GO HELP SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT
The Go Help Scholarship Programme is aimed at students in Ulaanbaatar from disadvantaged economic backgrounds that were struggling with the increasing cost of tuition fees at university. Go Help first started supporting a student called Khaliun with her Accounting Degree for two years, resulting in her successful graduation. Following on from that, we decided to increase the number of students we support, resulting in 12 scholarship students this year. These students are from varying disciplines of study and all have written and conversational English. Their participation in Go Help and our projects have been immeasurable. Their regular participation in volunteer activities at our projects and their support in and around our office in Ulaanbaatar has allowed Go Help to operate more efficiently and have afforded us the chance to expand our work and reach out to more projects and people. In return for helping out, our students are able to study rather than work part-time in an unregulated environment, gaining valuable experience while refining their English and increasing their levels of professionalism. Each of our students have a role within Go Help and they all work towards improving their skills and giving back to our organisation and the local community.
