Selected Work .01 // Instructor : P. Kariouk
Large Public Building Ottawa, Canada
Elevated Knowledge +
The focus of this project was to design a public neighborhood library adjacent to a body of water and negociating a stark change in elevation, The concept emerged from a reflection on the nature of enlightenment, as well as the dychotomy between static and dynamic forms of knowledge. The parti suggests to lift the spaces associated with "static" knowledge, thus creating space at grade level for "dynamic" knowledge to be expressed.
Selected Work .02 // Instructor : P. Bernbaum Hybrid Workflows Generative Desiign Creative Technology
Lost in Translation +
Using Geospatial Analysis, CNC milling and Photogrammetry documentation techniques, this project seeks to reveal the erosion of information when translating the digital to the physical, and vice versa. Plaster casting is used to index and reveal marks generated from custom toolpaths. Through casting, recording and mapping, the project reimagines cartographic production as a generative process, suggesting new landscapes out of the existing.
Selected Work .03 // Instructor : M.-A. Plourde Low-Impact Housing Charlevoix, Canada
La Vrille +
Built in the hills of Charlevoix, Quebec, the project followed a low-emission, climate sensitive design approach. The program was arranged to maximize sun exposure for heat and natural light. The envelope was designed with considerations for heat conservation and the preservation of local heritage crafts. Materials were picked with consideration for embodies energy and chemicals used during fabrication. The use of hemp insulation and reclaimed wood contributed to that objective.

Selected Work .04 // Instructor : O. Saloojee Mapping & Geospatial Analysis Istanbul, Turkey
Entangled Ecologies +
Produced in preparation for field work in Istanbul, th maps looked at bodies of water in and around the city to survey historical, political and geophysical forces. A set of maps of the Bosphorus Strait looked at water runoff, topography and fish migration. A second collaborative set resulted in two tryptichs of competing political views. One set looked at issues of refugee migration accross the Mediterranean from a liberal perspective, while the other looked at these issues from a realist perspective.

The Energy Imperative / [insert]Urbanism +
‘[Insert] Urbanism’ is one-part critique and one-part satire on the current state of urbanism both as a product and process. Rooted in theories of utopianism, the project converges three systems : The Food Imperative, The Waste Imperative, and The Energy Imperative. Responding to the need for clean and accesssible sources of energy, the Energy Imperative imagines a future infrastructure of 'tree-batteries' providing wireless electricity, and geothermal steam baths providing district energy.
