Charles Kenahan, a Rhode Island native, has spent over thirty-five years in wealth management, specializing in services for high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions. He has honed his expertise in strategic goal setting, risk assessment, and portfolio management, including tactical asset allocation and hedging. His notable career began at Morgan Stanley in Boston, where he served as Managing Director from June 1994 to December 2007. He was twice named Top Corporate Services Adviser for the Americas, recognizing his exemplary service to clients with significant investable assets and major corporations. After leaving Morgan Stanley, he joined Merrill Lynch, where he managed to grow his team’s Assets Under Management (AUM) to over $1 billion, leading one of the most successful wealth management teams in New England. His strategic insights were crucial in the profitable equity recapitalization of True Temper Sports, leading to a threefold return over two-and-a-half years. His commitment extends beyond the financial sector into philanthropic and community involvement. He played a vital role on the Board of Consultants at Portsmouth Abbey School, his alma mater, where he led a $50 million capital campaign to a successful conclusion. Additionally, he serves on the boards of SailNewport, the Rhode Island State Police Museum Foundation, Aritaur Communications, and the finance committee of Saint Mary’s Church. An avid yacht racer, he is the principal of the Mahalo Yacht Racing Team, which has competed and succeeded in numerous international regattas, including winning the 2015 Swan 42 North American Championship.
