ELEVATE YOUR KITCHEN'S STYLE WITH THE PERFECT APPLIANCES Charles Licastro

WHEN MOST PEOPLE THINK OF REVAMPING THEIR KITCHEN, THE FIRST THOUGHT THAT COMES TO MIND IS A FRESH PAINT OF COLOR, UPDATED CABINETS, OR NEW COUNTERTOPS AND FLOORING. WHILE ALL OF THOSE THINGS CAN CERTAINLY CHANGE UP THE LOOK, APPLIANCES ARE EQUALLY AS IMPORTANT. THEY ARE THE MOST USED ITEMS IN THE KITCHEN, FROM THE REFRIGERATOR TO THE DISHWASHING MACHINE. DON'T OVERLOOK WHAT A GOOD SET OF NEW APPLIANCES CAN DO FOR YOU AND YOUR KITCHEN.

A TOUCH OF TRADITION If you're not quite sure which color direction you want to follow, but you know that you want to avoid anything bold or modern, consider taking a more traditional route with the classic color choice of black and white. Black appliances go well in a kitchen with darker accents and can help the room feel warm and comforting. White appliances coordinate well with just about any color scheme and can open up the room, an ideal choice if you have a small kitchen. They are perfect for brightening up a room and are great in a kitchen with lots of windows.

FOLLOW THE RAINBOW Homeowners used to shy away from the colorful appliances once cherished by homeowners of the past, but new trends are bringing color back in a big way. Bold, bright colors from the rainbow are emerging in new and unique kitchen designs. Be vibrant with your color choice for the right statement. Bring the colors of the ocean right into your kitchen with peachy corals and seafoam greens. Go more rustic with auburn reds and burnt orange. Make a statement with sunny yellow, hot pink, and vibrant purple. If you like the idea of brightening your kitchen with color but don't want to push the envelope too far, a subtle teal, muted avocado green, or deep plum might be just what you need.

STAINLESS FOR THE WIN Stainless steel has been a popular color choice for many years, and for good reason. It goes with just about everything and always looks great. Although smudges were once a concern, new smudge-free designs have practically eliminated that problem. If the color of stainless steel is holding you back, there are more choices to pick from the color scheme. Use black or slate stainless steel. Whichever stainless color you choose, be sure to coordinate other parts of the kitchen to match, such as faucets, door handles, and light fixtures to achieve your desired look.
