Signature Programs and events

The Charleston Metro Chamber provides a unique and diverse set of program and event offerings. Each program provides members an opportunity to engage and connect with fellow Chamber members and community leaders, gaining access to information on regional issues while partnering with the Chamber to advance metro Charleston.

Annual Business Leaders’ summit During the Business Leaders’ Summit, we will empower and activate our business leaders through our shared priorities while recognizing and honoring the Chamber’s Board Leadership. The half-day session includes the Chairman’s passing of the gavel along with a discussion on a mobilization strategy with hot topics affecting our region.

Economic Outlook Conference Regarded as essential among the business leaders of the Charleston metro region, the Economic Outlook Conference is an invaluable resource for attendees and sponsors alike. This annual event reviews the current year’s economic activity as well as national, global and regional projections for the next 12 to 18 months and features a presentation targeted to the local economy. A printed Economic Outlook Forecast is a valuable reference for business leaders throughout the year ahead.

Legislative Reception Salute local, state and federal elected officials, including those that are newly elected, at the Legislative Reception. Meet new officials including county councils, school boards and tri-county legislative delegation members in both the South Carolina House and Senate while making valuable connections with fellow Chamber members. Each year, more than 75 elected officials from across the region and state attend this event, along with hundreds of Chamber members. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to have your voice heard on issues that are important to you and your business.

Member-Bration The Charleston Metro Chamber and CresCom Bank are celebrating our 1,500 members with a night filled with entertainment, experience and yummy tastings, highlighting Chamber partners that cultivate Charlestonâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s premier hospitality industry. The evening kicks-off with The Honors award ceremony, paying homage to outstanding business leaders and organizations who are providing exceptional advancements to the Charleston region. At The Celebration, experience everything from the delicious tastes from several of our fabulous catering and restaurant members and the sounds of a local band to unique opportunities to explore the work of the top organizations in the metro.

Metro Leadership Visit The Metro Leadership Visit takes a delegation of 65-75 community and civic leaders to visit other cities throughout the nation to explore issues facing our region and is a highly-sought after leadership experience. Strategic relationships with other business leaders are forged throughout the 2-3 day experience, providing lasting value and ROI. Exclusive access to other citiesâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; public and private sector leaders and organizations adds unparalleled business knowledge and insight.

State Delegation Appreciation Our Annual State Delegation Appreciation Reception allows us to thank our elected officials for their continued support and commitment to the Chamberâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s legislative agenda. This event is held at the end of the legislative session, recognizing all members of the State Legislative Delegation for their work in helping to advance the business community.

Charleston Young Professionals There is a force in the region; a dynamic host of young professionals who are talented, action-oriented and driving the economic strength of today and tomorrow. They are Charleston Young Professionals (CYP) and they represent a significant, robust sector of the business community’s voice. Initiated by the Charleston Metro Chamber in 2006, CYP members represent multiple demographic, professional and industry sectors. Membership is made up of rising stars, middle managers, entrepreneurs, business owners and business executives. Programming includes:

YP Connect Meet new people and discover new places at social events throughout the region, promoting cultural, entertainment and lifestyle opportunities. YP Connect is a unique opportunity to develop quality connections and experience some peer rejuvenation.

YP Fuel his quarterly series provides invaluable career knowledge designed to fuel a member’s T professional success and offers incredible opportunities for personal development.

YP Wake Up P Wake Up is a quarterly coffee series that connects you with cutting-edge speakers in Y subject areas that matter. Speakers provide updates of industry specific issues and help you start your day feeling motivated and inspired to apply what you’ve learned.

Leadership Development The Chamber’s Leadership Development programs provide leadership growth through community awareness, education and hands-on experience and provide the region with an ongoing source of leaders that are prepared and committed to serve as catalysts of positive change. Programming includes:

Leadership Charleston Leadership Charleston is a 9-month intensive leadership training and civic participation program. Class topics include infrastructure, law enforcement, workforce development, military, economic development, local and state government and education. The class also provides in-depth leadership styles and skills training. Leadership Charleston has a 44+ year history with more than 2000 alumni.

Leadership Discovery Leadership Discovery is an accelerated leadership development program for emerging and middle managers designed to heighten leadership characteristics and skills. Through Leadership Discovery, future leaders will learn from regional leaders and class peers while working on skills that expedite leadership development in this unique 3-month program.

Executive Women’s Roundtable he Executive Women’s Roundtable provides an opportunity for female executives of Chamber member T companies to discuss local, regional and national topics that impact the economy and business environment. This program facilitates involvement in the region’s leadership and the opportunity to engage with and learn from other women executives. The roundtables feature speakers, panels and topics that are relevant to the workplace, region and leadership.
