The Charleston Metro Chamber provides a unique and diverse set of program and event offerings. Each program provides members an opportunity to engage and connect with fellow Chamber members and community leaders, gaining access to information on regional issues while partnering with the Chamber to advance metro Charleston.
Annual Meeting: A Celebration of the Membership The Chamber’s Annual Meeting brings members and their guests together from across the region for an evening of celebration, camaraderie and entertainment. The annual “passing of the gavel” brings valuable information and words from our outgoing and incoming Chairmen. A distinctive, relevant and nationally acclaimed keynote speaker provides cutting-edge business information for the year ahead. Connect with other leaders and develop new business relationships to advance your business success.
Board of Directors Monthly Meeting The Chamber’s Board of Directors is comprised of 70 top business and community leaders, representing the membership, who are focused on the key issues and opportunities that advance our region. The Board leads the direction of the Chamber as active, strategic and policy-driven members.
Economic Outlook Conference Regarded as essential among the business leaders of the Charleston metro region, the Economic Outlook Conference is an invaluable resource for attendees and sponsors alike. This annual event reviews the current year’s economic activity as well as national, global and regional projections for the next 12 to 18 months and features a presentation targeted to the local economy. A printed Economic Outlook Forecast is a valuable reference for business leaders throughout the year ahead.
Executive Women’s Roundtable The Executive Women’s Roundtable provides an opportunity for female executives of Chamber member companies to discuss local, regional and national topics that impact the economy and business environment. This quarterly program facilitates involvement in the region’s leadership and the opportunity to engage with and learn from other women executives. The luncheons feature speakers, panels and topics that are relevant to the workplace, region and leadership.

Honors Night Join the Charleston Metro Chamber for an evening of celebration as we recognize those individuals and companies who have provided exceptional advancements to the region. Comprised of an awards program and a reception, the evening allows for connecting with fellow Chamber members and honorees and applauding those who have made incredible contributions to our community. Awards presented include: The Trailblazer, The Pillar, The Rock Star, The Beacon, The Milestone, The One to Watch and the pinnacle Joseph P. Riley Leadership Award.
Legislative Reception Salute local, state and federal elected officials including those that are newly elected at the Legislative Reception. Meet new officials including county councils, school boards and tri-county legislative delegation members in both the South Carolina House and Senate while making valuable connections with fellow Chamber members. Each year, more than 75 elected officials from across the region and state attend this event, along with hundreds of Chamber members. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to have your voice heard on issues that are important to you and your business.
Metro Leadership Visit The Metro Leadership Visit, a delegation of 75-100 community leaders that visit other cities throughout the nation to explore issues facing our region, is a highly-sought after leadership experience. Strategic relationships with other business leaders are forged throughout the 2-3 day experience, providing lasting value and ROI. Exclusive access to other cities’ public and private sector leaders and organizations adds unparalleled business knowledge and insight.
State Delegation Appreciation This annual event, held at the end of the legislative session, recognizes all members of the state legislative delegation for their work in helping to advance the business community’s legislative agenda. Each year, one member of the state delegation is awarded the prestigious Glenn McConnell Elected Leadership Award, an award created in 2012 and named for former Senator Glenn McConnell.

Ask the Expert - monthly Access to a high value expert through monthly lunch sessions including a presentation followed by Q&A. This program will provide insight and information that you can quickly implement in your business while creating opportunities for subject matter experts to showcase their knowledge and visibility as thought leaders.
Business in your Backyard - quarterly Business in your Backyard connects and informs you on vital local topics in your backyard. Held once a quarter in each of the Chamber’s four local areas, Business in your Backyard provides the opportunity for members to connect with others doing business in their community while engaging in targeted topics focused on localized community and economic development issues.
Chamber Connect - monthly Face-to-face interactions are invaluable for strengthening and creating new relationships. Each month you will have the opportunity to maximize your membership through a variety of connection opportunities in each of the Chamber’s four local markets. Develop new contacts across multiple industries while sharing ideas and collaborating with others doing business in your community.

Charleston Young Professionals There is a force in the region; a dynamic host of young professionals who are talented, action-oriented and driving the economic strength of today and tomorrow. They are Charleston Young Professionals (CYP) and they represent a significant, robust sector of the business community’s voice. Initiated by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce in 2006, CYP members represent multiple demographic, professional and industry sectors. Membership is made up of rising stars, middle managers, entrepreneurs, business owners and business executives. Programming includes:
YP Connect
Meet new people and discover new places at social events throughout the region. Held quarterly, YP Connect showcases the trendiest places around the region while providing a unique opportunity to develop quality connections and peer rejuvenation in a laid-back setting.
YP Fuel
A quarterly series designed to fuel young professionals’ careers by addressing unique challenges they face in today’s work environment. YP Fuel broadens professional development by connecting with cutting-edge speakers that share information on important subject areas. Knowledge gained can be instantly applied for a competitive edge.
YP Wake Up
A free quarterly breakfast series featuring fresh coffee, great people and incredible speakers designed to inspire young professionals with insights and best practices relevent to their work. Speakers share stories and lessons they have learned throughout their careers and in doing so, pass on invaluable knowledge to the attendees who will walk away feeling motivated and inspired to apply those lessons learned.

Leadership Circle Lead investors of the Chamber are businesses throughout the region working together to enhance the economic vibrancy of the region. Leadership Development Through community awareness, education and hands-on experience, the Chamber’s Leadership Development programs provide the region with an ongoing source of leaders that are prepared and committed to serve as catalysts of positive change. Programming includes:
Leadership Charleston
Leadership Charleston is a 10-month intensive leadership training and civic participation program. Class topics include infrastructure, crime, workforce development, military, economic development, local and state government and education. The class also provides in-depth leadership styles and skills training. Leadership Charleston has a 43+ year history with more than 2000 alumni.
Leadership Discovery
Leadership Discovery is a unique leadership development program for emerging and middle managers designed to heighten leadership characteristics and skills. Through Leadership Discovery, future leaders will learn from regional leaders and class peers while working on skills that expedite leadership development in this unique team-based, 5-month program.

Advocacy Matters dvocacy Matters is a small, casual gathering of regional small business members to discuss legislative A issues and learn more about the Chamber’s Advocacy work. Meet with the Chamber’s full time state lobbyist, George Ramsey, and learn about the Chamber’s work at the federal, state and local levels while sharing your voice on your top legislative needs.
Export Charleston I ndividualized export training for small and mid-sized businesses through an intensive 4-session program. Learn from a nationally acclaimed trainer and exporter as well as from public and private sector experts. Graduate with a customized, actionable export plan.
