Defining tomorrow, today.
Quarterly Report Q2 2017
ROAD FUNDING PASSES “ Working together, our state’s leaders delivered the kind of long-term infrastructure funding solution, with tax relief and DOT reform, that the people of South Carolina deserve – and that’s something we can all celebrate.” - Barbara Melvin, Senior Vice President, Operations and Terminals South Carolina Ports Authority Board Chair South Carolina Chamber of Commerce
Our state made great progress this legislative session. Working collaboratively for more than three years to fund roads improvements, our legislators let businesses and residents know that they were heard. Safe, efficient and effective infrastructure will ensure that our economies prosper now and in the future. The Charleston Metro Chamber thanks the hundreds of business leaders who have worked with us tirelessly to share their voices with our leaders at the State House. We also express our thanks to the leadership of the South Carolina House and Senate for successfully pushing this issue through and to the members of our Tri-county legislative delegation who almost unanimously supported the measure and helped to override the Governor’s veto of the bill.
