Our Travel Club is on the move!

TheTravel Club Cresswind

Peachtree City originated in 2018. Our purpose is to research and schedule local, regional, national and international travel opportunities for all residents of Cresswind at Peachtree City who are current with their association and Travel Club dues.

After covid shut everything down, it is so exciting to begin traveling again! We started in January with our first monthly meeting and the club’s first organized bus trip was sold out in February. We’re very encouraged by our membership and have been going strong ever since. Our trips are consciously scheduled on different days of the week and at different times to try and accommodate more people’s schedules.

The trips we have taken and the ones proposed for the rest of the year are:

■ February–Hills and Dales tour and visit to Nutwood Winery in LaGrange

■ March–overnight fun-filled trip to Chattanooga (organized by last year’s officer, Margie Austin)

■ April–tour of Gibbs Garden in Ballground, GA and visit to Chateau Meichtry Winery

■ May–lunch and Shakespeare’s romantic comedy “As You Like It” at Atlanta’s midtown Shakespeare Tavern

■ June–Atlanta Braves vs the Minnesota Twins baseball game

■ July–Delta Flight Museum

■ August–dinner at Mary Mac’s and “Sips Under the Sea” at the Ge orgia Aquarium

■ September–North Georgia wine trip

■ October–Oakland Cemetery tour and dinner at 6 Feet Under

■ November–Georgia History Museum

■ December–tour of historic Springer Op era House in Columbus, GA. Lunch and matinee performance of Elf.

Since taking office we’ve established a dedicated bus company, club email (thetravelclubcwptc@gmail.com), a Facebook page (Cresswind PTC Travel Club), save the date flyers, advance notice for trip signups, and use of Sign Up Genius to track attendees. Our trips are intended for members only but if the trip fails to fill, we open up to all Cresswind residents.
