The Varicella-Zoster virus is of herpes viruses’ family, which causes genital herpes and cold sores. This is why shingles is also known as Herpes Zoster. Not many people are aware but shingles is not contagious as many people think it is. In fact, chickenpox is contagious. Shingles take place due to one and only reason that is the reactivation of the VaricellaZoster virus available in your body.
