Strep throat is a bacterial infection that people may feel sore and scratchy in their mouth. Strep throat makes up only a small portion of the sore throats. Strep throat may cause difficulties, including inflammation of the kidney or rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever may cause painful and inflamed joints, a certain form of a rash, or damage to the heart valve. It is most prevalent in children but affects people of all ages. Strep throat also known as streptococcal pharyngitis or streptococcal sore throat; it is always the responsibility of only bacteria. Streptococcal bacteria are highly contagious and spreads by airborne droplets while sneezing or coughing.Â

Other Strep Throat symptoms may include headache, stomach pain, nausea, or, especially in children, vomiting. Someone with a strep throat can also get a rash called scarlet fever. People may also see a red, sandpaper-like rash beginning in the region of the face and arms, and then spreading to the rest of the body. This could be an indication of scarlet fever, might also call their doctor if they or a child in care shows any strep symptoms or see that rash. The cause of these symptoms and signs may be a viral infection or some other illness. That is why their doctor typically tests for strep throat specifically.
