On the SAT, the Charlotte Christian top scorer achieved 1500 out of a possible 1600 (2230 out of 2400), with 23 percent of our seniors testing over 1300. 2008-09 was an amazing year as students in all areas of the fine arts excelled with their gifts and talents. From partnering with other private schools to create combined orchestras to our praise band leading worship at the Billy Graham Association to guest artist workshops to train our choirs at the highest level, there was much to be proud of as we expanded beyond the walls of Charlotte Christian School. Awards were plentiful in visual arts. There were multiple silver and gold key scholastic art awards; the first and grand prize winners of the Carolina’s Freedom Foundation; and a national award-winning artwork selected as one of 50 pieces for exhibition in the Old Post Office Building in the offices of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities in Washington, DC. An unprecedented five instrumental students were selected for All-District Honors Band setting Charlotte Christian apart as one of the top private schools in a nine-county area. The ACT 1 drama team capped off their year as the North Carolina representative at the South Eastern Theatre Conference after becoming state champions at the North Carolina Theatre Conference High School Theatre Festival.
