Where did the idea for The Borrowers grow from? Has Leighton Middle School always been a school? What was it originally?
Role play and quiet reading area: Turn the chill out sofa area into the section behind the skirting boards (from the book) hand up large pans etc to make the children feel as if they are small compared to every day resources. This area will then become a quiet reading space. A range of fiction and non-fiction books to be made available in this area for children to direct their own learning. Learning display- pictures of ignites and learning to be displayed on learning ribbon. Classroom corners to be about The Borrowers, where Mary Norton books can be available.

Can you compare the size of a scaled to a non scaled drawing? Where have you seen images that have been drawn to scale in real life? Why do we convert measures? What does it mean draw an image to ‘Scale’? Describe what happens when you scale?
To be a scientist: Understand how light and sound travels.
(reflection, refraction, bending light, shadows). How the ear works. What does a quality product/outcome look like? The end product will consist of: -A high quality book created on the ipads and shared online. The book should be of a high quality and have suitable images to match what is happening within the text. Language should be up levelled and should be laid out appropriately. -Two pieces of provie it writing to be used towards sats evidence. Both pieces should be of a high level and children should aim to close their gap identified on app sheet from the previous piece of work. The work should pull in the knowledge gained from the Leighton Buzzard trip and describe some of the features of the area in their writing. -Children should read their book to a child in a younger year group using a clear and fluent voice. Photos of this should be taken and added into the children’s project books as evidence.
