My Professional Learning Center, also known as MyPLC,
• Classroom Practices That Work
• Scaffolding in Action
• Common Core and Literacy Strategies: Science
is the web-based professional learning management system in Atlanta Public Schools. This system allows all employees to view and register for professional learning opportunities (face-to-face or online) based on their current position. Each employee has a profile and ‘transcript’ in MyPLC which reflects all professional learning that has been completed. According to the school board policy, every employee within APS will complete a minimum of 20 clock hours of professional learning every year. Because this policy is part of the Balanced Score Card, each school will provide a spreadsheet of their staff’s clock hours each quarter. MyPLC can make this process simple. All school based PL opportunities can be uploaded to the MyPLC site through the school’s virtual office.
