WELCOME

Welcome! I’m delighted to welcome you to the first Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra concerts of 2021! The CSO’s Youth Orchestra program is a vital part of fulfilling the Symphony’s mission to uplift, entertain, and educate the diverse communities of Charlotte- Mecklenburg and beyond through exceptional musical experiences. The inspiring group of young musicians that you will hear today receive guidance from our Music Director Christopher Warren-Green; our highly skilled conducting staff, Christopher James Lees and Dr. Peter Swanson; and from CSO musicians, who serve as coaches. Guest artists performing with the Symphony, like our Opening Night soloist Paul Huang, offer master classes, giving students insight into the life of a professional musician and sharing new techniques to help students finetune their craft. We are all extremely proud of their hard work and many accomplishments. Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of parents and families and without the generous donors to the Charlotte Symphony. Thank you for being here today to hear these talented young musicians and to support the future of music in our community.

David Fisk President & CEO
