Amagnificentmausoleumwaserectedwhen FrancoisvanBredehoffdiedin1721;itisin theGroteKerkinOosthuizen,some30miles northofAmsterdam.TheAntwerpsculptor JanPetervanBaurscheittheElder(16991728)wascommissionedtocreatetheblack andwhitemarblesculpturalmonument, whichstillstandstoday,andisflankedby mourningboardsofhiswives,children,and family.
TheWestfriesMuseumcollectionincludes twopaintingsofFrancoisvanBredehoffby JandeBaen(1633-1702),thefirstathreequart-lengthportraitcirca1675,andthe othertitled"TheRegentsoftheHoorn ChamberoftheVOC"paintingin1682.
