I
am just coming off a week in New York City for fashion week. Living in Los Angeles is great, but there is something refreshing about a walking city filled to the brim with unique style you can spot at any moment on the street. I love fall, and it’s something that as an Angeleno I don’t get to experience much of because our summers seem to drag into November. After shooting all of these images in NYC, I felt refreshed and excited for the turn of the seasons, even if I may not be able to fully enjoy it on the west coast. When it comes to fashion, fall is basically is like the beginning of a new year for me. It’s the time for me to hit refresh with new prints, trends, and silhouettes. My original plan was to share a new fall trend every single weekday for five days straight, but once I saw these images, I wanted to do more with them.
Freshly inspired by my favorite city, a week of a fashion, and a brand new season of clothing, I decided to create this magazine to share my favorite fall trends with you to share what I love in a refreshing way beyond a normal blog post. Introducing Volume 1 of CHARMED: The Magazine. It is my hope that I'll continue to create and edit one of these each season, and that they'll only get better with time. I had so much fun creating this for you and sharing my love of fashion in a totally new way for Charmed by Camille. I hope this leaves you excited for fall and excited for the season ahead, wherever you may be. Stay fashionable,

The loafers I'm wearing here are Sam Edelman. They're pretty affordable and I love that you can fold down the backs to turn them into slides. In the past, tapered trousers and wide leg pants had been solely reserved for heels, but it's 2019; so have fun with your outfit! I love the look of wide leg pants with flats, where the hem just scrapes the floor. For more of a street style look, a pair of clean white sneakers will always emulate a cool-girl vibe.

The new animal print:
SNAKESKIN
Animal print is a major DO for fall, and my favorite is snakeskin. From skirts and pants to shoes and bags, this-s-s-s pattern is taking over department stores one slither at a time.
I
f summer had a mascot, it was definitely leopard print. And while spots are still going strong into fall, there's a new pattern in town putting up a good fight: snakeskin. From gorgeous neutrals to fun bold colors, snakeskin is a great alternative to animal print if you've exhausted your existing feline options and want something new for fall. What I probably love the most about this the snakeskin trend is its versatility. Sure, this is a classic print that looks beautiul on satin or silk, but you can also find it on casual tees and on denim. If you're not into the print on your clothing, then try for an accessory like a belt, a pair of shoes, or a bag. You'd be surprised at how
much a snakeskin printed bag can elevate your plain jeans and tee outfit. Since the print already has a lot going on, I prefer to keep my other pieces understated and simple. There is nothing more chic than a single pop of snakeskin against the dark backdrop of black. As you can see here, the black picked up all of the darker tones of my satin skirt, making the the marigold color pop even more against the grays of New York City. If you're a bit more daring when it comes to prints, then don't be afraid of doubling up here; the trick is to make sure your snakeskin prints are two different colors so it doesn't feel too matchy matchy. (Unless of course, you're wearing a set, then I'm all for it!)

LIQUID METALLICS T
his might be one of my favorite trends for fall mostly because, why should we wait until the holiday season to dress in something shiny? I fully support some daytime sparkle, and this season's lamĂŠ and plissĂŠ fabric pieces make any day feel a little less ordinary and a whole lot more fun. Offset the "fancy" feeling of these shiny fabrics by incorporating them with everyday casual pieces. Try a pair of sneakers or fun western ankle boots to add some funk to a dress. I layered a turtleneck under this gorgeous silver midi dress and it gave it a slightly dressed down and daytime feel, even though I still wore heels. A graphic tee works here too if you have a liquid metallic skirt or some pants. Continued on next page

I love the juxtaposition of casual and dressy pieces; they always make an outfit more interesting, in my opinion. You can also totally jazz up any regular outfit with a fun metallic bag or a pair of shoes. I own the lower version of the gold bow slides featured on the next page and they always add that little extra something to even my most simple outfits. (Not to mention I get so many compliments whenever I wear them.) Liquid metallics are such a refreshing update to traditional sequins, and this trend is such an easy one for the girl on the go who may not have time to transition her wardrobe from day to night.

FALL FOR FLORAL While florals for spring are always expected, this print is getting a fall update against dramatic dark backgrounds for a totally moody, almost Victorian vibe.
E
very year I try to convince myself that I don't like floral prints. It's not totally untrue; I'm very picky about floral prints on my clothing and I never like anything too dainty or too feminine. In years past I'd always gravitate toward darker, moodier florals to fit my style, even in the spring. And this year I'm so happy that this trend is plentiful for fall. You know your girl is all about contrasting colors and styles, so to me there is nothing more beautiful than girly flowers on a backdrop of dramatic dark navy or black. (Especially when it's on a rich fabric like velvet, as seen on this gorgeous dress I'm wearing in these photos.)
22 | Charmed: The Magazine
I love the vibrance of the flower print against the dark velvet; it gives an otherwise normally feminine print a little edge. Fall is always plentiful with jewel-tone solids or harvest-inspired plaids, so I'm happy to see these moody florals thrown into the mix to shake things up a bit. Pair with warm tones and buttery accessories like suede or softbrushed leather. I also like to look for special details you can usually only get this time of the year, like a plush fabric, a high neckline, or long sleeves. Try a top or casual dress for work or weekend, or splurge on a fancier dress if you've got a fall wedding on the way.

STYLE TIP: When wearing two shades of the same color, wear the lighter color on top and its darker iteration as your bottom piece. This will draw the eye down and make you look slimmer.
As for accessories, a monochromatic outfit will always look a bit fancier when kept simple with straight lines. I like clean black, but if you're feeing adventurous, try accessories in the same color as your outfit! Right now it's not too terribly cold out there for anyone, but just imagine yourself rocking head to toe color on a completely gray day. I'm telling you, a bright monochromatic outfit isn't only a confidence booster, it's a mood elevator, too.

POLISHED 70s VIBES What is old is new again. Polished, prim, and maybe even a little snobby, the bougie trend is all about traditional, perfectly put together looks with a touch of modesty, a little nod to the retro, and a whole lot of femininity.
A
Long, midi-length skirts overlap with slouchy booties for a completely covered lower half, and high neck lines with long sleeves are the perfect pairing for high rise, wide-leg trousers.
It's sophisicated, chic, and... you might even call it proper or preppy. And it's definitley a distinct style.
On your shopping list: button-up bow blouses, pleated skirts, smart blazers, silk scarves, and knee-high heeled boots; all timeless classics that can easily pair with closet basics like a simple flat or a plain crewneck t-shirt.
fter multiple seasons of athleisure wear, cool-girl sneakers, and stylish gym leggings as street fashion, the runways saw a major fashion shift toward for fall toward a style much dressier, one that many a magazine outlet is calling: the bougie trend.
Remember those vintage photos you found of your mom in the 1970s looking super chic and so put together? Bougie dressing at it's peak, my friend. Think retro Parisian ladies or the American the working woman in the same time period. Bougie dressing falls somewhere between highly polished and elegantly effortless, and there's definitely a sense of modesty to this trend even though it's still alluring.
While the houndstooth, tweed, and check prints of the menswear trend are mirrored here, this trend is distinctly feminine thanks to flowly fabrics, girly bows, and belted cinched waists. And although effortless, make no mistake that the devil is in the details when it comes to thoughtful tailoring and perfectly appointed accessories.
