that offers a great selection for both men and women. And if you’re feeling thirsty, grab a latte at Coffee District. Want to make the morning even sweeter? Head back down to Atlantic and pop into Kilwin’s for a tasty treat. This decadent sweets shop is brimming with handmade candy, assorted chocolates and all the ice cream you could ever sample. After filling your stomach with confectionery delight, check out the American Royal Arts showroom—the place to go if you’re a fan of classic rock. Here you can purchase exclusive photography and artwork from some of the biggest names in music such as Brian Wilson and the late John Lennon. All this walking is sure to work up an appetite, and Delray is at no loss for restaurants. Try the savory Churrasco, a skirt steak marinated in garlic and fresh herbs, at the vibrant, Latin-fusion restaurant Cabana El Rey. Pair any one of their entrees with a coconut mojito for a sweet, refreshing blast of coconut flavor and cool mint. Or stroll back to the Colony, get your bathing suit on and pick up a slice at Pizza Rustica on your way to the beach. There are two ways to get to the ocean: The first is walking straight down Atlantic Avenue. The second is taking the hotel van to the Cabaña Club. The Cabaña Club is just two miles from the Colony, but it feels like you’ve walked onto a tropical island. Relax by the saltwater pool or enjoy the private beach area before heading out for some aquatic adventures. After you’ve soaked in all the Florida sun you can handle, stop by Boston’s on the Beach for a post-surf drink or appetizer before heading back to the hotel to get ready for dinner and your night out. The number of quality restaurants on Atlantic Avenue alone is staggering. Tables line the street at night and are quickly filled with visitors and locals, all enjoying the delectable cuisine and undeniable energy. pend a day exploring downtown Delray Beach and you’ll never want to go home. This little city by the sea is home to dozens of restaurants, galleries, boutiques and nighttime hot spots ready to show you what vacationing in South Florida is all about. Waking up at the Colony Hotel & Cabaña Club is like waking up in another time. Built in 1926, this historic landmark has kept many of its original features, including the antique furniture and handoperated elevator. But there are plenty of modern touches in this certified-green hotel. As the sun shines through the window, you’ll shake off the last bit of sleep before wandering downstairs for breakfast. Or you can add a bit of French flair to your morning at Crêpes by the Sea, a delicious

little eatery located right around the corner. Simply walk out the front door of the Colony and you’re right in the middle of it all. Atlantic Avenue is the heart of downtown Delray Beach, so head out in either direction to find an eclectic mix of shops and galleries. Most stores don’t open till mid-morning, so there’s no rush to get up early. The decorative lamps in the window of Hand’s Stationers are irresistible, and you’ll be ogling the shoe selection at Tootsies. We recommend taking a stroll through the Pineapple Grove Arts District, located just blocks from the hotel. Go north on Second Avenue, and you can’t miss the colorful sign marking the entrance to this distinctive district. While you’re there, step into Kismet, a quirky clothing-exchange shop
