Through this partnership, we are thrilled to offer Chartwell Juniors ages 5 through 10, a safe and enhanced array of fun Summer Camp activities. Chartwell’s week-long day camp not only gives our juniors the opportunity to gain confidence and skills through lessons in Golf, Tennis, Fitness and Aquatics, but also allows them to have fun building friendships and creating memories that are sure to last a lifetime. A delicious, kid-friendly lunch will be provided each day, please be sure to share any allergies or dietary restrictions with your Camp Counselor. KE Camps is the premier junior camp provider in the private club industry. Last year alone, KE Camps assisted over 100 private country clubs throughout the country to safely provide memorable camp experiences for over 5,000 juniors. Working closely with KE Camp experts, we have created an action-packed camp experience that promises this year will be Chartwell’s most fun-filled and exciting summer season yet! Chartwell Golf & Country Club and KE Camps have combined efforts in hiring a staff of individuals sharing the goal to provide a safe, fun, camp experience for each and every junior in attendance. Entry level swim lessons for ages 10 and under. Level I is intended to be an introduction to the water. Swimmers will learn basic skills and water safety. This activity requires swimmers to be able to touch the bottom of the pool in the shallow end. No experience necessary. Maximum Participants: 12

LEVEL II - BEGINNER LEVEL AGES: 10 & Under - $125 per person DATES: 1 Week Session, Monday - Thursday Available July 11-14 TIME: 9:00AM - 9:45AM

Beginning level swim lessons for ages 10 and under. Level II swim lessons will focus on treading water, floating and swimming 10 yards on their stomachs and back. All participants should feel comfortable in the water. No prerequisite. Maximum Participants: 12

LEVEL III - INTERMEDIATE LEVEL AGES: 10 & Under - $125 per person DATES: 1 Week Session, Monday - Thursday Available July 18-21 TIME: 9:00AM - 9:45AM

Intermediate level swim lessons for ages 10 and under. Level III swim lessons will focus on expanding participants skills. Swimmers will tread water for 2 minutes, successfully float and swim 15 yards on their stomachs and backs. Introduction to various swimming techniques. Prerequisite: Level II. Welcome to the basics of springboard diving. Come learn the fundamentals of standard forward and backward diving approaches. The clinic will cover basic technique and safety for people interested in joining a diving team, or just learning a fun new summer skill. swïm tëåm INFORMATION Chartwell Golf and Country Club is excited to get back into pool with the Central Maryland Swim League! We look forward joining the talented swimmers from our surrounding communities for a summer filled with fun, fitness and healthy competition as we race for the Division V title.

A QUICK DIVE INTO THE DETAILS OF THE 2022 SWIM TEAM: Swimmers of all levels are welcome to participate so long as they are able to pass Chartwell’s Deep End Test. Swimmers who do not meet the Deep End Test requirements will be invited to join Chartwell’s Pre-Team to help them build the skills and confidence needed to advance to the competitive level. After school swim team practices will begin Monday, June 9, with morning summer practices beginning June 29. See the practice schedule for more information. The Chartwell Chargers will compete in three (3) CMSL meets held at each home pool. To ensure swim meets are both successful and rewarding for all participants, parent volunteers are necessary at each event. We thank you in advance for being part of the team and for doing your part to make this our best season yet! We are happy to announce that this year’s swim team will be led by Chartwell’s Director of Aquatics, and long time swim Coach, Ken DeGruchy along with three carefully selected assistant coaches. We are also pleased to welcome back our parent representatives and Chartwell members, Brock and Annie Hale.

SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION INFORMATION REGISTRATION FEE: $125 PER PARTICIPANT* Registration fee includes: Swim practice/instruction, swim meets, AAU insurance, CMSL fees, team tee-shirt and three team events including Kick-Off Party, Pancake Breakfast and an End of Season Awards Celebration. Swimmers will be required to purchase additional items, including a custom team swimsuit, goggles and swim caps. Optional team spirit wear will be available for purchase. Swim Team registration will be open online beginning Tuesday, February 22 and will close Wednesday, May 25. Registration is open to children and grandchildren of Chartwell Social, Sport and Golf members. Registration fees will be billed to your Membership account after the final team assessment at the end of June.

Chartwell’s Summer Golf Camp is designed for players that have a vested interest in beginning and advancing their golf journey. Players in this camp should be seeking to become a Junior Certified tag holder once eligible at age 10. Please note the prerequisites for each level before registering. We are using the Operation 36 curriculum, this requires players 8+ to purchase the OP36 starter kit. This is a one time purchase that will stay with the player for future camps and programs. As part of the curriculum players will participate in play-days which require parents to accompany players on the golf course. After-School programs are designed for players beginning or early in their golf journey. Players should have an interest in advancing their skills over time in order to become a Junior Certified tag holder (eligible at age 10).

åddïtïøñålGOLFINFORMATION There is a maximum of 12 participants for each of our golf camp sessions and after school sessions. Once a session is at capacity requests will be put on a waiting list and added as availability permits. Players may register for one (1) 2-week golf camp session, one (1) spring after school session and one (1) fall after school session. Additional registrations requests will be put on a waiting list until the Saturday prior to the start date and admitted as space allows. Prerequisites: US Kids L1 = control speed/direction putting, chipping onto green, and full swing experience (contact with teed ball). US Kids L2 = can make a 3ft putt, can chip inside 15ft, full swing airborne from ground. Drop-off & pickup location outside the golf shop. Golf attire is appropriate. Please bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen. Golf activities are available to children and grandchildren of Golf Members only. Guests are not permitted. Full session registrations only, no single day options are available. Registration fees are nonrefundable and can not be pro-rated.

Students will focus on basic movements: running, jumping and balance. The main goal is to develop body control using tennis-based activities and to have fun!

Young Stars - Ages: 8-10 - 1:30PM-3:00PM

REGISTRATION FEE - DAILY: $36 WEEKLY T-F: $135 Basic stroke mechanics are introduced along with proper movement and recovery. Students will use cooperative game-based activities to rally back and forth with each other. Students will learn match format and scoring.

Junior Aces - Ages: 11-14 - 10:00AM-11:30AM

REGISTRATION FEE - DAILY: $36 WEEKLY M-F: $135 Juniors will focus on developing correct swing patterns. Consistency and footwork are emphasized. The concept of using spin to control the ball will be introduced. Match play will be introduced.

Through instructional drills, games and interactive activities, Chartwell’s racquets professional’s will teach juniors the fundamentals of pickleball including the rules of the game and match play. Each participant registered for this week long clinic will receive their very own pickleball paddle to keep serving up dinks and volleys once this fun clinic comes to an end! TO KEEP CHARTWELL JUNIORS SAFE, ACTIVE AND CREATING MEMORIES ALL SUMMER LONG Chartwell Golf and Country Club’s mission is to provide premier recreational experiences to our members within a setting that fosters fun, friendship, and family values. Our professional team is committed to promoting and encouraging Chartwell’s juniors to experience and thrive in golf, tennis, pickleball, aquatics, and fitness programs enabling them to feel comfortable and confident utilizing the club and building relationships that are sure to last a lifetime. Sportsmanship and teamwork are essential in creating a fun, fair and educational environment for Chartwell’s juniors to enjoy. Juniors are expected to conduct themselves in a kind and courteous manor, and in accordance with Chartwell’s rules and policies. Junior programming privileges shall be suspended for any behavior that is deemed unsafe and/or disruptive. Parents are encouraged to remind their juniors to seek assistance from a Chartwell team member whenever necessary.

SUMMER PROGRAMMING SAFETY GUIDELINES In the event that you are not feeling well on any given program day, please notify the club and/or instructor as they will make arrangements for you to either be picked up or marked accordingly for our attendance records. Juniors are welcome to bring their own equipment and supplies where applicable. This includes golf clubs, tennis/pickleball racquets, sunscreen, towels, and water bottles for example. Chartwell G & CC is committed to following all health and safety protocols set forth by the State and County to reduce the spread of the corona virus. As these guidelines are updated, summer programming protocols will be revised. Summer programs are available to children and grandchildren of current Chartwell members. Membership classification restrictions may apply, please see page 2 for program eligibility. Registration opens on Tuesday, February 22 at 9AM. Please be aware that there are maximum capacities for camps and programs and that registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional participants will be added from the wait list if/when space becomes available. Should you need to withdraw from a scheduled activity please notify the program Director, so that wait listed juniors will have the opportunity to participate. In order to receive a refund cancellations must be made thirty days prior to the start of the scheduled program. All refunds are subject to $25 cancellation fee.
