Paul passed away peacefully holding hands with wife Anne. He leaves his four children Yvette, Paul, Jackie, Michael + families, and stepdaughters Jackie and Katrina and granddaughter Jackie.

He was always happy with his job at Advance Sheet Metal and missed the friends he had there when he retired.

He was proud to serve as President of the Chase Legion and enjoyed the work involved and all the friends and neighbours in the Village that he loved.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Kamloops Hospice Associations or Chase Legion are appreciated.

Memorial will be held at Chase Legion on March 11th at 12 noon.

The Village of Chase is seeking a customer focused, team-oriented Receptionist/Cashier to join their finance team.

You will be responsible for front line customer service and cashier duties. The primary duties will include customer interactions, processing receipts for a variety of payments, providing information and assistance to the public on enquires relating to fees, charges, property taxes and utilities and other related duties which support the needs of the finance department.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Receptionist/Cashier will work collaboratively with the finance department as part of a team striving to provide exceptional customer service to taxpayers of Chase. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday work week, (35 hours per week), unionized position with a comprehensive benefits plan, as per the terms of the Collective Agreement.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual committed to exceptional customer service with proven skills and experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. In this role you will be responsible for receiving, processing, and balancing all types of payment, (cash, cheque, credit card and electronic) for a variety of accounts. You will provide information and assistance to the public and perform accounting, clerical and filing support in the office.

The successful candidate will have a minimum Grade 12 education, experience working in an office environment, possess a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices, be competent with computers and relevant software specifically MS Office, and possess experience performing a variety of clerical and cashiering tasks. The candidate will demonstrate professionalism, carry a good work ethic and will be able to successfully multi-task, with minimal supervision.

The wage for this position is $22.26 per hour, as per the collective agreement, with a six (6) month probationary period.

Being a position within the Bargaining Unit, and in compliance with Article 11 of the Collective Agreement between the Village of Chase and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 900, Chase, this notice was posted internally for five (5) working days, being made available to all Village of Chase Bargaining Unit employees before being advertised externally.
