Page 5 • January 18th, 2019 • Chase Sunflower Obituary Lane Hill It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lane Hill of Chase, BC, on December 28th, 2018, at 74 years of age. Lane is survived by his children Tania, of Vancouver, Nadine, of Mission, and Jeff, of Campbell River, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, three brothers and one sister. Lane was predeceased by his father, Wallace, mother, Janet, sisters Jenny, Joan and Lynne. Lane was born in Cranbrook, BC, and raised in the beautiful Columbia Valley. He was a faller in the logging industry all his life. He was especially proud of the expertise he applied in helicopter logging on the coast. He was enjoying his retirement in Chase before his sudden passing. He will be sorely missed by family and many close friends in Chase and area. There will be no funeral service by request. Condolences may be expressed to the family from www.myalternatives.ca

Chocolate Chip Cookie Mug Cake
Ingredients 2 tablespoons unsalted butter room temperature 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon all purpose flour 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, not packed 2 tablespoons milk 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 pinch salt + more for topping 2 1/2 tablespoons semi sweet chocolate chips + more for topping Additional semi sweet chocolate chips additional salt
Instructions Place butter in a large microwave safe coffee mug. Microwave until just melted (don’t let get very hot) about 3060 seconds. (It melts faster in a wide mug and takes a bit longer in tall, narrow mug).
Remove mug from microwave and add flour, dark brown sugar, milk, baking powder and salt. Stir well with a fork, until smooth. Stir in 2 1/2 tablespoons chocolate chips. Microwave (on high) for 1 minute and 25 seconds for a wide mug (as shown in the picture) or 1 minute and 35 seconds for a tall, narrow mug. Remove from microwave, sprinkle more chocolate chips and salt (if desired). Eat hot with a tall glass of cold milk!

Starting Saturday January 26, 2019 from 11am to noon, Music in the Stacks will be happening at the library. Carmen will kick off the first Saturday with a Woodstock celebration. On February 2, we will enjoy some good ole Kenny Rogers together.
Drop-in and free. Just a chance to hang out and listen to some music. Are you musical at all? Would you like to play your accordion, violin, banjo or harmonica just for fun?
