Go By Bike in Chase

CEAS and the Village of Chase are busy preparing for the Go By Bike campaign in Chase. Please register on-line by logging onto gobybikebc.ca and choose Chase from communities drop down. Once you create an account you will see the Chase page AND will be able to “log your ride” for the week of May 29June 4th.

On May 29th at 8:30am, there will be a ribbon cutting event at the bus-loop between Haldane and CSS sending bike riders off for a short ride around the community to promote the start of this event. Be sure to bring a smile, dress up, decorate...anything goes to show our communities enthusiasm for the fun week ahead!!

Also, as part of the week, there will be a self guided story-book ride suitable for the entire family that will start May 29th and last for the duration of the event. You will start at the Pocket Park in downtown Chase to read the 1st of 6 Chapters. Once completed you will be directed to each individual 5 remaining parks located in Chase. The “Musings of Marcus,” written by local author, P. Rosemary French, will entertain and amuse you, as Marcus the cat keeps his owners on high-alert with all his adventures and misadventures. Once you have read all 6 Chapters be sure to drop your name in the draw box at the Chase Library to win a copy of the book courtesy of the Chase Literacy Program.

Go by Bike BC is encouraging all residents of BC and of course Chase (from toddlers to retirees) to experience the joy of cycling and to ride their bikes as much as possible during this week, Whether it’s to work, school, for fun, for exercise, to stretch your legs, to clear your mind….no matter the reason, just ride your bike!!!

Getting around on smaller wheels like scooters and rollerblades counts too!!!
