CAPE AGULHAS CLASSIC MTB AND TRAIL RUN

The breath-taking views of the Indian Ocean and the rugged terrain of the Cape Agulhas National Park offered participants in this wonderful event an unforgettable experience!

It was great to see so many enthusiastic riders and runners competing for the top spot, and we would like to congratulate all the participants on their hard-fought victories. It was an incredible sight to behold, with the riders and runners navigating the challenging terrain. Not to mention the sheer athleticism and skill demonstrated by each participant - it was truly an inspiring event! We'd like to thank everyone who took part for making this race such a success, including all the sponsors and organizers. We hope to see you all again next year for another thrilling race at the Southern Tip of Africa.

CHAS EVERITT OPE JUKSKEIDAG

Elke Desember bied die Agulhas Jukskeiklub ‘n heerlike ope dag aan. Spanne vanaf Groenbergklub (Hermanus), Bettysbaai, Gansbaai, Robertson en L ‘Agulhas kom bymekaar om die eg Suid Afrikaanse sport te beoefen. Die atmosfeer was weer plesierig, met heerlike versnapperinge uit die kombuis, en opwinding met die gewilde Raffle prys en geborgde pryse.

Die jaar het Gansbaai se gedugte span die eerste plek gewen in die top afdeling en L’ Agulhas se C span het die eerste plek verower op hulle tuisbaan in die laer afdeling.

Kontak gerus vir Tommy 063 108 8602 of Andre 081 347 3965, en gaan gooi ‘n paar skeie by die mooi bane in Agulhas. Passop net, as die gogga eers gebyt het los hy jou nie!

CHAS EVERITT ROLBALDAG

Saterdag 17 Desember ‘22 het die Agulhas Rolbalbane weer gegons met die Chas Everitt Kaap Agulhas Borgdag. Spelers van regoor die Overberg en Boland het meegeding.

TWO OCEANS MARLIN COMPETITION 2023

With Struisbaai Harbour as the starting point the 17th Annual Suidpunt Deep Sea Angling Clubs’ fantastic Marlin Competition was once again held from the 12th to 17th of February. The weather played along for the first four days making for epic conditions, and exhausted contestants.

Weather prevented the anglers from going out on Thursday and Friday, but all in all it was a hugely successful event, with a total of eight marlins caught, measured, and released. To celebrate the winners, a closing function and prize-giving was held at the club on Friday night with our own Grant van der Westhuizen as the tournament director.

Congratulations to all those who managed to hook one of these marvels of nature.

GEELSTERT CHALLENGE

The 26th Chas Everitt Geelstert Challenge was held on the 27th of December 2022.

With 207 entrants and 40 boats, it was extremely well attended including some of our local Struisbaai fishing crews. It was a glorious morning, and contestants set out before dawn. The Geelstert Challenge is a family event and from young to old all stood a chance to haul in the biggest yellowtail on the day and with that the R20 000 cash prize. There were plenty of other prizes too and Marinda and Dahlene once again ensured that this event was one to remember. Fishing is more than just catching fish. It's about spending time with friends and family and making memories that will last a lifetime. Congratulations to Robert Knott for pulling out the big one.
