Case Study: Corbis Corbis is a stock photography company with a comprehensive library of photographs, videos, and illustrations that can be licensed for a variety of uses. Corbis recently relocated in Manhattan and hired the highly acclaimed design firm A+I Architecture to design its new space. Corbis wanted to maintain a clean look and feel while using a PVC-free wallcovering substrate to display some of its most striking images. To accomplish these goals, A+I turned to Designtex for its digital wallcovering expertise and range of wallcovering substrates that meet the Designtex environmental design criteria. The overall concept for the space called for a predominantly white, clean theme with digitally printed wallcovering applied to all of the vertical surfaces. Digital Duraprene™, a PVC-free material with recycled paper content, was selected as the wallcovering substrate. A+I utilized Corbis’s powerful images to design a series of compelling murals to cover approximately 3,000 square feet of wall space. As an added challenge, Corbis wanted the images to continue over the doors and elevators. Working out the technical challenges to achieve this goal involved careful collaboration between Designtex and the installation team. At the project’s completion the space looked just how Corbis wanted: branded, bold, and sophisticated.

Case Study: MillerCoors When MillerCoors moved from Colorado to its new headquarters in Chicago, they wanted to their new home to reflect the history, evolution and future of its brand. The design firm The Integer Group created a series of large scale murals that included logos, brand assets, historical photos and images that celebrate the MillerCoors heritage. These images were to be displayed in a series of large, curved feature walls, conference rooms and work areas on several floors. The project required extremely high quality imaging, exceptional color management to maintain critical brand colors, and a sustainable wallcovering substrate. The Integer Group turned to Designtex to provide all of these solutions. Working with the client through a series of conference calls, meetings and strategy sessions, all of the technical requirements of the product were accomplished. Digital Duraprene™ was selected as the print substrate since it is PVC-free and contains recycled paper content. Critical color matching was performed by the Designtex Surface Imaging team which ensured that all of the images and corporate logos were reproduced accurately to the client’s specifications. At the project’s completion, MillerCoors moved into its new space that reflected the company’s mission and values in dramatic fashion.

Case Study: Travel Alberta Travel Alberta is the official destination marketing organization which promotes Alberta as a tourist destination regionally, nationally, and internationally to increase the number of visitors to and within Alberta. Seeking to enhance its office space, Travel Alberta worked with a local design firm to create 6 different murals to represent the diverse cultures and experiences that make Alberta both exciting and unique. Viewed closely, the murals are seen to be made of thousands of words, each of which was heavily scrutinized by Travel Alberta to ensure that the text reflected its branding message. As with other projects, the client wanted a sustainable substrate. In this case, the client chose Digital Duraprene™, a PVC-free material with recycled fiber content. These murals are spread out over 2 floors, creating exciting spaces for staff and visitors.
