COMPETITION ENTRY Post - Pandemic Architecture “In the case of biological threats , the sense of urgency is lacking . The world needs to prepare for pandemics in the same way it prepares for war . The following illustration brings up architectural solutions that can be incorporated in the designing of houses and well as the city to prepare it for pandemics . It shows how will architecture respond to a world where pandemics will be a part of our lives . It reflects how our living environment be better prepared for the next lockdown that may last even longer .
COMPETITION ENTRY The Lunchbox
re-thinking office spaces in india The Main motive of this competition was to design for this generation of entrepreneurs and their aspirations, a small scale collaborative startup business office for young entrepreneurs in Information & Technology - Sector. The design is to be a co-working space where various business start-ups would use the office spaces in the building, sharing common facilities and recreation areas. With the concept of clustering work areas , it gives arrangements for businesses of varying sizes, ranging from a single person, to a ten person set up. It creates a space where people in the IT profession, with different business enterprises have an opportunity to come together and share experiences of seminars, events, presentations, that generate ideas, making it an intellectual space that harbours innovation and creation.
COMPETITION ENTRY Micro -Housing The main motive of the project was to design a prototype of a micro-housing unit that reflects the personal needs and culture of the residential community chosen. A suitable aggregation of these micro-housing units is done in an urban context , mirroring the communal needs of the group of users. A total of 100 users are considered for design. The design serves as an upgrade to the standard of living of the users. While being very functional in nature, it is aesthetically pleasing. The built-up area of each residential unit does not exceed 350 sq.ft.and house up to 4 individuals. The unit is a prototype of making the optimum use of space .
The following designs are generated using grasshopper and rhino . All the structures are self supported pavilion designs using 3D Voronoi and Catenary Arches . The use of grasshopper can help in automatically generating perforations in the structure using various coding commands . These openings can therefore provide interesting patterns in the structure . They can be used for recreational activities , exhibition spaces and gathering spaces .They can be made out of ferro - cement or concrete .
