1.1 POINT / LINE / PLANE I explored the quality of point as connection point where lines converge, either to form a plane/surface or a frame I found that points and lines can form a network on a plane, as folding lines. I played with tectonic of planes in different height and levels, to accomodate different functions i.e. sitting, lying, standing and walking I expored the nature of plane, as in soft fabric and rigid panel.

1.2 FRAME & INFILL - ABOVE Frame and infiil are complementary to each other. Frame is solid, rigid, permenant and structural Frame can be customised or irregular in shape and size Frame shown posibility in spatial expansion, both vertically and horizontally. Infill is temporary, inhabitable and dynamic Infill can extended thoughout the frame or protruding beyond the frame. Infill is the space for experience.

Herring Island When I paid a visit to the island, I found that the whole island is a gallery, both of artificial arts and of nature beauty. I choose a site that sit both near the riverfront and the inland forest, to collect views from all angles. I choose the site because the significance of the site as the site facing the channel which was cut to create the island from a quarry. The site is located near the north landing, and can be access at two points from circulation path. The site is also located admist various sculptures created by artists.
Chosen Site
2.1 SITE ANALYSIS AND CONCEPTACLE
My conceptacle is a assemblage of three techtonics -point/line/plane, frame and infill, and mass. From bottom, the heaviest mass, which is thought to be underground when related to earth, then the point/line/plane elements between/on ground surface, while the anti-gravity nature of frame and infill to penetrate into the open space above.

2.2 Design Development When I am thinking about secret, I am thinking about the nature of secret that of unknown and concealed and of revealed and sharing. People might keep their personal or most important secret, deep inside their heart, known only to themselves. In another perspective, people can also willingly reveal and share their secret to others, which in turn foster mutual trust in relationships. I tried to relate these thoughts to the concepts that I learnt from previous exercises and also my conceptacle. Where mass can be the zone for keeping secret, deep in the ground, securely, while frame and infill provide oppurtunities to explore the space and to have a glimpse of surrounding beauty up above. Besides, I have to take into account various requirements and mandatory spaces. For accessible use, I consider gentle slope and flat design. A lounge had added into the design as family space. The basement is dedicated for time capsule storage where visitors can store their time capsule for a long period of time. To get there visitors have to explore through a maze-like space with skylight as primary lighting. Above the mass is the steel frame structure with exploration paths. At ground floor, an exhibition of arts and some island-related information is on displayed for vistors to appreciate.

3.0 REFLECTION I have much from this studio. The three techtonics of point/line/plane, frame and infill, and mass are the basic technics in architecture, each focuses on different space in relation to earth, above ground, on ground and underground. It is useful to know different method of design, model-making, drawing and collage. I have move from the stage of inconcious incompetant to concious incompentant. I realised the importance of skill development. I undertand that I am still lacking the skill in 3D model making, graphic editing, presentation and other. I also understand that design process (what we learnt) only consist a small portion of the whole project. After design presentation, there are still many steps to go such as documentation. I also know that there are more constraints in real life projects than in univeristy.
