Grease Selection Guide
PROTECTING WHAT IS IMPORTANT
ANDEROL® GREASE SELECTION GUIDE
Grease Thickener Type:
Step One – Select the most important application criteria related to the environmental & mechanical conditions:
CALCIUM SULFONATE
Excellent high temperature characteristics paired with strong shear stability. These grease types exhibit exceptional water resistance, exceptional load carrying capability and may also be considered for food processing applications.
GRAPHITE
Greases compounded with microfine graphite are capable of withstanding high temperatures and pressures, and resist “baking out” and “carbonization”. Designed to prevent seizure and over-torque conditions.
INORGANIC
These bentone clay thickened greases have excellent high temperature characteristics as well as good water resistance. Best performance when not mixed with soap based greases. Very good choice for extreme temperature variations.
Step Three - Utilize the detailed technical data listed herein to determine the ANDEROL® grease that meets your application’s needs.
LITHIUM/LITHIUM COMPLEX
Excellent high temperature capability with application for wide temperature ranges. Superior mechanical shear stability - grease maintains its consistency when worked for long periods of time - and pumpability.
Step Four - Contact ANDEROL® Specialty Lubricants for a sample to evaluate the grease suitability in your system!
FLUOROSILICONE
Poly(tetrafluroethylene) or PTFE greases are engineered to lower the coefficient of friction in extremely high load and temperature applications. Exhibits excellent water resistance and fluid longevity/stability. Premium grease grade to improve application endurance.

Notes: •
Solid additives such as graphite, molybdenum disulfide, or PTFE may be incorporated in applications requiring protection from extreme high loads, shock loading, and slow-moving steel-on-steel applications requiring barrier lubrication. Low temperature performance for all thickener types is improved when using a lower base oil viscosity or synthetic base oils.
•
Maintaining continuity within these thickener types reduces the possibility of incompatibility between thickener types – which could be harmful to the equipment. It is also important to note that with proper purging and flushing of the system, any thickener type grease could be substituted for another - providing all the mechanical components of the application are compatible.
