一. NANJING AVIC SCIENCE PARK Competition - Winning Bid Aedas Dec 2013 - Jan 2014 Nanjing, China Based on an aviation theme, our concept stems from aerodynamic elements. The main tower draws inspiration from the cross-section profile of a plane’s wing and embodies together all the functional requirements of the brief into a single 240m tower, as a hybrid hotel and office tower solution. The result is reflected in the Masterplan having more freedom to create dynamic spaces in the plaza through utilization of the extra free space and incorporation of sunken plazas. This creates an unique user experience for the future users of the tower and its surroundings. 贡献 CONTRIBUTION Having only five weeks for the whole design submission, our team of 8 people worked around the clock to deliver the submission on time to a high quality we could all be proud of. Roles: • Design and modelling of Main Iconic Tower • Coordinating peers to complete 3D model of overall submission • Worked closely to oversee subcontractors in the production of final renderings and animations, as well as internal quality control of diagrams and presentation booklets

二. NANJING AVIC SCIENCE PARK SD & DD Phase Aedas April 2014 - Present Nanjing, China As the project moved into SD phase, the client provided us with many new pieces of information that ultimately had to influence the design towards a more conservation solution. As a result, months of hard work ensued coming up with many options to provide a sustainable, cost-effective solution whilst still aiming to provide an unique user experience and aethetic to the development. As a result, the project exterior aethetic utilizes mainly straight componenets. However, heavy testing and thought were put into the spatial ratios of the site and its linkage with plazas, lobbies and sunken plazas to create a truly special user experience that is unique to the city of Najing. 贡献 CONTRIBUTION After successfully winning the bid against several other world leading firms, we split the whole development within the team and everyone was in charge of different sections for SD stages. Roles: • Design and modelling of Main Iconic Tower and Podium (mall) • Developed plans of cores, mall and parking • Coordinating deliverables of SD interim reports to clients for further design development • Worked closely to oversee subcontractors in the production of final renderings, as well as internal quality control of diagrams and presentation booklets

三. K2 MIXED USE PROJECT Facade Design and DD Package Aedas April 2014 - November 2014 Shanghai, China I jumped onto this project after the conceptual and SD stage and gained valuable experience in the DD stage and insight into Facade packages. The facade of all four towers is created by 1500mm wide units - 400mm wide aluminium panels with 1100mm glazed glass. Whilst a vertical fin system would determine the final aesthics of the tower.

四. KUNTAI RESI. SHOWROOM Conceptual Design Aedas April - May 2014 Beijing, China The client commissioned our team for the showroom of the iconic Da Wing Jing development. The development consists of four A-grade office buildings, a highrise residential building and a multi-purpose commercial exhibition complex, a block away from the infamous Galaxy Soho by Zaha Hadid. The showroom will exhibit both the units of the highrise residential units as well a model of the overall development and other related materials to the Da Wang Jing Development. In the conceptual stages, we tested three options to gauge the client’s vision towards the final image of the structure and they leant heavily towards a dynamic massing that involves many complex double curved elements. 贡献 CONTRIBUTION After successfully delivering several past projects, I was tasked with being project lead on a commissioned project for an existing client. Roles: • Client liaison • Overseeing design development of conceptual options - reporting to the design director • Responsible for design and modelling of successful option • Managing peers with both design development and submissions • Quality control of rendering images, physical models and deliverables

五. HAIKOU CANCER HOSPITAL SD, DD and Tendering Aedas May 2014 - August 2015 Beijing, China In the conceptual stages, we tested three options to gauge the client’s vision towards the final image of the structure and they leant heavily towards a dynamic massing that involves many complex double curved elements. In producing the technical drawings and resolving structure issues, the team all learnt a great deal in dealing with complex shapes and massings. Using unorthodox methods of documentation at times, we were able to resolve the build for a succesful completion date. 贡献 CONTRIBUTION After the client chose and approved the conceptual option we further developed the design through SD and DD stages whilst working closely to LDI’s and other consultants. Roles: • Client liaison • LDI and consultant liaison • Resolving complex double curved drawings alongside Associate • Responsible for communicating complex model to structure consultants and builders • Managing peers with both design development and submissions • Quality control of rendering images, physical models and deliverables

六. MACAU AQUA GRAVITY Conceptual Design Aedas January 2015 - February 2015 Macau, China Gravity - “the force of attraction by which terrestial bodies tend to fall toward the center of the earth”, has a powerful effect on people’s lives and influences their behaviour. Macau Aqua Gravity, the development’s design theme, is a centre of entertainment and unique experiences, which attact people to visit by nature, adding a new landmark in Macau that offers an alternative experience to gaming facilities. While the Macau peninsula contains rich, colorful history. The reclaimed Cotai, in contrast, is an area emerging with modern buildings and new developments. The key location of the Aqua Gravity in Taipa, serves as a portal to adventures of aquatic life and green living - welcoming the people from old town Macau towards Cotai as a threshold landmark.

七. HAIKOU CANCER HOSPITAL Competition - last place HASSELL June - July 2012 Hangzhou, China After an initial brainstorming workshop with an expert in hospitals from the Brisbane office in Australia. We decided to take a big risk through changing the standard connotations towards the form of a hospital. Our expert, whose past projects have all been very standardized hospitals resolved the plans by dividing the functions into long strips that ran accross the site. By solving the functions in this way, intimate balcony, courtyard and garden spaces are created for patients, visitors, doctors and nurses anywhere in the hospital. Through the composition of facades, there is great control of public, semi-private and private functions. Furthermore, through challenging the traditional hospital image, both everyday patients and longterm cancer patients are not reminded the fact they are sick... rather, they will be able to focus on the process of healing. 贡献 CONTRIBUTION On a tight one month schedule with a small team of three people, this project involved many extra personal commitments. However, I personally found it very rewarding being given extra responsibitlities and trust. Roles: • 3D Modelling of design and responsible for final facade option • quality control of renderings and physical model • presentation design of A3 booklets, A1 boards (Photoshop & Indesign)

八. BEIJING ZHONGYU GARDEN Competition - result pending HASSELL April - May 2012 Hangzhou, China The site location diverges from existing Convention Centres in Beijing. Located on the east side of the city centre between the 3rd and 4th ring, the surrounding urban grid is comprised of residential and commercial developments and serveral high-end restaurants. The site has enormous potential to become a staple for the Western suburbs as well as the whole city. Devating from conventional urban grids, the whole design becomes unique in its orientation. Deviations are influenced by site requirements, efficiency and aesthetic elements. Hotel, Conference Center, F&B, Offices and Retail must be merged together to form larger volumes. We see this as an opportunity to create something timeless through the composition of functions which in-turn will be reflected in the volume and materials. Interconnectivity between different functions also create more streamlined user experiences and synergy. An urban plaza pedestrian street provides both customers and employees with a high quality semi-private intimate space; providing the city of Beijing with a unique commercial destination.

九. 16 PIER - PHASE 1 Competition - 1st Prize ANS September - December 2010 Bund, Shanghai The competitive brief involved a modern transformation of an old pier originated during the early settlements of Shanghai. Our proposal includes three (3) distinct functions, each allocated to its own platform. The ferry terminal on the ground level allows for maximal efficiency and corresponds most successfully to buoy regulations. The second platform is an extension of the bund promenade but includes more green space for the public. The top platform consisted of cultural elements, restaurants and kiosks, provides shading for the second platform, whilst its plan is shaped to direct views towards architectural sculptures in Pudong. 贡献 CONTRIBUTION I worked on this project as part of a newly formed competition team, consisting of three (3) members including myself. This was a great learning opportunity as I got to work senior architects on a very linear level. Roles: • design input (modelling) • diagrams (Illustrator) • resolving partial plans & sections (AutoCAD, Illustrator) • presentation design of A3 booklets, A0 boards (Photoshop & Indesign) • physical modelmaking for informal client meetings • project decription text (English)

十. 16 PIER - PHASE 2 Competition - 1st Prize ANS February - July 2011 Bund, Shanghai After the conclusion of the phase 1 competition, the clients acquired a further 3 blocks of land behind the 16 pier site. The brief was changed based on feedback from the government and now has to integrate the new acquired land. The design began from scratch but retaining key ideas from the first phase competition. After a series of meetings and feedback from the client the final design was realised. The new 16 pier would consist of only two platforms; the ground level still being the terminal (with a multilevel circulation system to the basement). The cultural and landscape elements are fused into the first floor creating a promenade extension from the existing bund with various public facilities and cultural motifs. Sky bridges and an underground plaza link the pier and buildings behind. 贡献 CONTRIBUTION Roles: • design input (modelling) • diagrams (Illustrator) • resolving partial plans & sections (AutoCAD, Illustrator) • presentation design of A3 booklets, A0 boards (Photoshop & Indesign) • physical modelmaking for informal client meetings • project decription text (English)

All renderings of the option I worked on mostly during this project. In total, we provided 2 options for the building facades and 2 options for the ferry terminal.
