WHAT IS LIQUID SPACE? To me, liquid is an magical element. It doesn’t has its own shape, and change it’s shape by the container and the environment surround it to fit them. The liquid is uncountable and can be seperated into infinity molecules. They are infinity and also they are one. You are me and I am you. We are each others. ABOUT THE PROJECTS All four projects start from a image that inspire me, and I discover the concept behind the image. Then, I develope the concept as the ar.

SPACE THAT HAS NO SHAPE /

Liquid space is just like liquid that it doesn’t has its own shape, and change it’s shape by the container and the environment surround it. So, liquid space change its volumn to fit the activities of users. When there are only few people, they can use the small part of the liquid space. On the other hand, when there are a lot of people, the space is also integrated.

GAP /

The gap between two walls compairs to the bubbles on the surface of air and water. It becomes a buer when the use of the spaces are changing. The gap let the light and the wind go throw. Making the building is capable to take a breathe and get some feeling of the weather outside.

DESIGN OF NO ENDING

Each area of the library does not have an exact boundary to call as a room. People can get some hint of condition from the other part of the space that is unseen.

14

NO ENDING /

No ending is not only the loop of of the circulation that makes the architecture has no ending, but with some little message sending to “the ending” of the architecture that is from the other side of the other ending. These messages make the ordinary “ ending” to connect the other side of the ending and make the ending not an ending.

5 Way to Design No Ending / - block the view - blank space - soft surface - extended gap - confusing elimination point in perspective

About the Loop /

One space overlap another smoothy, so people in the space cannot notice getting into another room. When all the "rooms" connect in this way making whole building into a loop, and the architecture becomes endless.

The opsite movement of yoga house and bath house to build the space of bath house and yoga house.

YOGA HOUSE vs. BATH HOUSE /

Yoga House and Bath House are both a place for people to relax their whole body-- from outside to inside, and the similar adjectives are heat/ healthy/ relax/ breathe/ peace. To show both “the yoga house is the bath house” and “the bath house is yoga house,” bath house is made with the feeling of yoga house, and so as yoga house.

28

ATMOSPHERE FLOAT /

The hot spring create smoke, and the smoke blur the space and the glass. Make the building surrounding by the smoky atmosphere. In the bath house, you feel like that you are in the yoga house, and feel like that you are in the bath house when you are in the yoga house. Everything becomes unclear, uncertain, unimportant. In the end, the smoke is gathered to the second oor--the smoky room and leaves by the chimney.
