Ford Motor Company announced its plan to buy the abandoned Train Depot and restore it as hub for its future mobility ventures, and it has led to an increase in demand for high-quality and multi-type housing nearby. The site is right on the historical Michigan Avenue, facing the Roosevelt Park. Corktown district is right across the street the site, which is helpful to create the walkable community for the Parkside Towers.

Accessible roof terraces provide people more valuable exterior spaces. The atrium feature in the first tower aims to create an indoor gathering space for residents and also provide more direct daylight into the 11-story tower buidling.
On the street level, there are series of retail stores, such as dental office, restaurants, fashion stores and barber shops. This situation will help to create a walkable community for people living there, and it will also be harmonious with the culture of the historical Michigan Avenue. 13

Three layers of mountains form the main elevation, mimicing Chongqing’s terrain feature.
Different mountains have different function, for instance, a bar table and a wooden sofa, achieved by different shapes.

PLAN
Nemo Point is in the South Pacific Ocean, a place furthest from any human activities. The area is also known as a “spacecraft cemetery because hundreds of decommissioned satellites, space stations and other spacecraft have been deposited there upon re-entering the atmosphere for its remote location from human. Where those decommissioned satellites will go to is a big problem as just dumping them in the middle of Pacific Ocean cannot be an eternal solution. A complete life cycle for spacecrafts needs to be created to make the whole Aerospace industry more complete. Remains of retired spacecrafts need to be gathered and recycled, and new meanings should be given to them. A floating city is proposed, and it will be the central base where this recycle process takes place.
ELEVATION
The city is carved out of the inside of an artificial volcano, anchored on Nemo Point. It is a ringed linear city, transportation system connecting the outer ring and the inner ring, and each section of the city. The city is divided into six sections, each section has a different characteristic. The program of the inner ring and outer ring will flip, as one is residential buildings and the outside is recreation area, gathering plaza and sports stadiums. Buildings inside are modern skyscrapers, representing the modern lifestyle we are having right now. It is hidden behind the volcano, only a glimpse of them can be spotted from the outside. Human daily life happens above the surfaces, industry happens beneath the sea level, hiding.
49
HITTING THE TARGET & RECYCLING
There are three layers of transportation system: the top three for people, lower two for merchandise or goods, and the one submerged for industrial supplies.
The hexagon energy panle is at the edge of the city, and the city is living on solar, tide and bio-chemistry energy.
