VM PROJECT ARCHITECTURE A music video is a short film integrating a song. Composion of several realistic or imaginary film clips, a full story or just visual presentation convey the theme of a song and intensify the atmosphere.

VM Project Architecture is a creative video creation group based in Seoul, South Korea. Their specialization in using colors, geometry and abstraction in the production of music videos makes their works unique and artistic. VM's music videos present impressvie images coherent with music vibe, offering people visual and acoustical resonance. Thus, an imaginery world is automatically generated in brain when watching music videos.

Scene #1 - ORIGIN: Illution A fantastic and eye-catching image is always the start of a music video. Bold color contrast, picture in a picture, visual transparency and complexness set the keynote of music and draw people's attention into music world.
Scene Model #1 Space layering causing vitual disorder is the core of illusive image. Coexistence and ambiguity of revealing and concealing tempt tourists to generate curiosity of inquiring real and virtual.

Scene #2 - EVOLUTION: limitless Moving lens through long corridors creates a sense of infinite extension and deep focus. This sense triggers people's curiosity for further exploration of deeper inside.

Plan Loadbearing walls of three existing boxs are preserved. Boxes serve as meeting, restaurant and exhibition respectively. Vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines run across boxes, giving a sense of weaving. Suzhou Garden One of typical features of Suzhou gardens is fluctuate and zigzag corridors going through the whole garden. The zigzag creates a sense of rhythm, influencing touring experience to an extent. As people walk along the corridors, scenes differs following the moving. Everchanging scenery adds interest to the touring and allows tourists to appreciate the view in a dynamic way. Thus the public center apply zigzag bridges to integrate vernacular elements and strengthen interest during the touring. 25

Mild Ramp The elevation and section shows mild ramps through the whole building. From entrance to exit, the building goes up to down gently. The mild ramp is friendly to the elderly who is physically inconvenient and provides safety to children. The height transformation is coherent with surrounding vegetation height, making the building a part of the context.

The site is a triangular green space with a path crossing through. All the spaces are arranged echoing with triangle. Existing waved path is preserved as touring route as well as crossing path for pedestrain. Starting point of touring is north-east of path. Spaces along the path follows touring logic and manufacturing process.

The Mechanism of Pipe Organ The mechanism of pipe organ is quite comple. Blower pushes air into a reservoir. After traveling through wind trunk, air enters wind chest, which is a air-tight box. An array of pipes arranged in sets called rank is controlled by stop knob in console. When stop is pulled out, the holes in a wood slat called slider are in line with the pipes. Then this rank of pipes is engaged with the play. Organist despress a key, the pallet controlled by keyboard opens and allow air to enter key channel. Then air flows into the pipe. All the pipes on that channel whose stops have been opened make sound. A complete pipe organ comprises of handreds sets, forming an interesting pipe forest with zigzag pathes and up & downs. The mystery of inside pipe organ is what tourists want to explore.

Public Engagement & Pipe Organ As a traditional culture of UK, pipe organ is an important instrument in church. However, with rapid development of modern instrument, pipe organ along with manufacturing industry are facing decay. Renaissance of declining culture is high on the agenda. Manufacturing factory leaves people with the impression of closure and chaos. Although the pipe organ manufacturing is interesting, few people is welling to step into a factory to learn about it. Therefore, how to invite people to visit factory is the key point to be solved. A new-mode factory combining factory and public services is proposed to attract tourists and expand influence. Museum helps tourist learn the history of pipe organ. The touring bridge through the whole building, also seving as a bridge across the lawn, gets people walk along the manufacturing line. Cafe and viewing platform makes people stay. With public engagement, the pipe organ factory is no longer a building but a part of public daily life. Bring poeple into the factory triggers their curiosity of this ancient instrument. The culture of pipe organ can survive in such a innovative way.
