A studio project of Interior Architecture Design Studio 4 (Year 2/Semester 4_Jan - May 2018), School of Architecture and Built Environment, UCSI University. The project site located at Pasar Besar Jalan Othman a.k.a. PJ old town market, one of the earliest traditional market in Petaling Jaya, built in 1974. The studio looks into the interaction between personal, social, and commercial activities, and attempts to counteract with the gentrification process with the new lifestyle of consumption experience such as supermarket or convenience store-chain in everywhere now. These proposals suggest a new interiors and planning to preserve individual stalls or businesses. The outcome showcases a conception of atmosphere to this traditional market is more than a place to shop, and remain as a community hub to perform its social function, and a place for everyone.
