THE FRESNO CARDINALS WIN WITH SAM DONALD’S BASES LOADED WALK IN THE BOTTOM OF THE NINTH Michael Jimenez pitched a three hitter complete game Fresno, CA June 10, 2011 – The Fresno Cardinals tied the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning. Then with the bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning Sam Donald came up to bat and worked a walk to score the winning runner, Connor Williams. Pitcher Michael Jimenez (Fresno Pacific) got his second start for the Cardinals this season and got his first win for the summer. He pitched a three hitter complete game. He did not have a complete game during the school year. The two runs were unearned. He is 1-1 on the season.

Zak Colby went 1-3 with 2 walks, a stolen base, and a run. David Whiteside went 1-3 with a walk and double. Connor Williams went 1-1 with a run. Sam Donald, Matt Fox, and Connor Williams all came into the game as pinch hitters or defensive replacements. Matt Fox and Connor Williams each scored a run. The Neptune Beach Pearl had a runner at third with one out in the second inning, but the Cardinals were able to get out of the jam. Cody White (Reedley College) singled through the right side with one out in the bottom of the second inning. Brian Gaad (Reedley College) singled to first base putting runners at first and second. The Cardinals were not able to score a run in the inning. In the third inning with one out Zak Colby (Fresno City College) singled through the right side. Colton Vaughn (South Mount. CC) was hit by a pitch putting runners at first and second. The Neptune Beach Pearl scored one run in the top of the fourth inning. It was off of no hits and one error. They led 1-0.
