2013 Reedley College Baseball team at kick-off dinner on January 19, 2013

Reedley College Baseball is ranked #18 in the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association NorCal PreSeason Poll. They will be playing eight teams this year that are ranked in NorCal and two others that got votes. Two of the three teams they play from SoCal are ranked and the other one got votes also.

The Tigers have three players that made CCCBCA 2013 Pre-Season All-American Northern California Team. The three are: Michael Hostetler as an infielder, Laz Villa as an outfielder, and Jonathan Rodriguez as a utility player. Reedley has 30 players on the roster. There are players from Alameda, Clovis, Coarsegold, Fresno, Hanford, Lemoore, Madera, Reedley, Sanger, Selma, and Visalia. Reedley College Baseball started their third season under head Coach Steve Pearse on Friday, February 1 at #8 Ohlone. The Tigers won 5-3. Joe Doering pitched seven innings, gave up four hits, two runs and one earned, one walk, and struck out seven batters. He got the win. Anthony Valle pitched the final two innings, giving up a hit, one unearned run, a walk, struck out a batter, and got the save. Rodriguez went 1-4 with a bunt single, a walk and two runs scored. Josh Cantrell went 1-4 with a RBI, stolen base, and a run scored. Jonathan Chapa went 1-3 with a walk and a run scored. The Tigers played #1 San Mateo on Saturday, February 2. The Tigers lost 6-5 in the bottom of the 9th inning. Hostetler had the first hit and run of the game for Reedley in seventh inning. Richard Roque had a pinch hit two run double. Hostetler went 2-4 with a run scored. Chapa had two walks, stolen base, and a run scored. David Mora went 1-1 with two runs scored. Reedley starts a six game homestand on Thursday, February 7 against Marin College at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 8 they play #16 Golden West College at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9 they play Hartnell College at 12:00 p.m. The Tigers will have a rematch with #8 Ohlone, hosting them on Wednesday, February 13 at 5:00 p.m. They host #7 Santa Rosa on Friday, February 15 at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 16 at 12:00 p.m.
