When spirit from the other side connects with us, it takes energy and attention. You can facilitate the ease with this experience by taking a few steps to draw in spirit, and give guidelines, and ask great questions that allow a deeper connection. Here are three powerful steps you can take right away to connect with spirit. Initially, let go of expectations. Let go of the burning desire that put you in this place, to begin with (desiring to speak to spirit). So when you are fully focused on your expectations, this acts as a cloud of judgment that blocks true information from showing up for you. For instance, let's say you have guilt because you let a pet go and you are pretty sure it was too soon. You are so sure you're asking the pet if they will forgive you for letting them go too soon. This blocks any true answers. Now, let go. Let the pet's spirit communicate. Maybe you held on too long, and the pet gives you completely different feedback than you expected. This can only happen when you let go of expectations - then spirit can give you clear information. Next, and this is funny, get fully clear on the question. So this sounds a lot like having expectations, but it isn't that. It's getting clear on who you would like to communicate with from the other side, and having a clear question framed in a light that allows for generative conversations. So it might be simply sending a validation that you are here in the present time (in spirit). It might be "Show me a memory flooding my mind that can conjure up some of our favorite times together." Questions that don't work are questions like "Why did you cross over?" although that could work, it also might not quite be clear yet to the spirit of the being who crossed. Other communications that work well are "send me a song on the radio by an artist we both enjoyed," or "send me the likeness of a daisy so I know you are thinking about me." If you're going to spend time with a medium to help you, write down seven or eight questions before you go into the reading. Sometimes in the reading, you will forget all your questions! So go ahead and ask some questions ahead of time. This also preps spirit as spirit is communicating telepathically with us all the time. Now for my favorite parts: Validation and integration. Lately, validations have been flying into me as if on wings. Every reading that I am present for, I receive validations. They are basically communications that would not otherwise be possible without spirit communication. So if you ask spirit to remind you of a song, and then that song or that artist plays on the radio, that's validation. Then finally once you have invited yourself to receive spirit messages, and you have validated a few of the messages, you can add a third piece. This is integration. That's when you change because of the communication. So you allow the communications and insight to actually trigger a change in your life. This might be taking a new job interview, or taking a vacation, or booking a flight, or it might mean breaking up with an abusive spouse. The small to the crazy life-changing wild integrations - when done in connection with spirit - can bring you more joy than you believed was possible.
