Bizerte :The Venice of Africa -,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,History
Located in the north of Tunisia. Bizerte is the largest city north of the capital. It is also close to Sardinia and Sicily. The city was known under the reign of Carthaginians and Romans as Hippo Diarrhytus or Hippo Zaratus. It was occupied by the Spanish from 1553 to 1572. Bizerte is now a seaport, a beach resort, a regional market center and a site of freetrade zone.
