Chet Lauer is a former baseball coach and player from Cuyahoga County, Ohio. He attended Saint Ignatius High School, a college-preparatory school emphasizing growth, intellectual competence, and social justice. After graduating from Saint Ignatius, Lauer attended Cuyahoga Community College and established himself as the school's baseball team star. He also studied business, accounting, and communications at Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, New Jersey. Lauer eventually transferred to John Carroll University, becoming an athletic academic honor roll student and earning his bachelor's degree in communications. Located in University Heights, Ohio, John Carroll University provides its students with the necessary skills to become inspired leaders with the character, heart, and knowledge to support the greater good throughout life. Lauer was also the captain of the John Carroll University Blue Streaks baseball team, where he led a talented pitching staff while providing crucial support. After completing his studies at John Carroll University, Lauer became an assistant baseball coach before joining IMG Academy. He then spent two years as an international professional baseball player, traveling the world to places like Canberra, Australia, and Clermont-Ferrand, France. Lauer was named the International All-Star of the time by the European Baseball & Softball Magazine while playing in Austria and France. As an assistant varsity baseball coach, he led dozens of players through off-season training, published student newsletters, and managed game day logistics. Lauer also created a baseball-focused holistic improvement program for students.
