Since 1994, they have established themselves as a benchmark Santa Barbara County grower and producer. Their consistent quality vintage after vintage keeps them a favorite of critics, tastemakers, and collectors. Beckmen wines are 100% biodynamically farmed and crafted almost exclusively from our two vineyards, the Thomas and Judith Beckmen Estate Vineyard in Los Olivos District and Purisima Mountain Vineyard in Ballard Canyon. They utilize each of their vineyards’ strengths to balance and complement each other when blended into wines like Cuvee le Bec or allow them to express their individual personalities in their range of single vineyard wines. $95 per person, includes passed hors d’oeuvres, beverages during cocktails and dinner with pairings . SUNDAY,

TOUR OF THE OLD TREES SEPTEMBER 25 • 2 - 4 P.M.

Photography by intern, Lauren Eberth.

Did you know: The Chevy Chase Club is home to many trees that pre-date the founding of the Club. In April, noted forest ecologist, Michael Gaige visited to assess our trees and found a Black Gum (Nyssa sylvatica) that is at least 350 years old. The tree is located in the small grove of trees to the north of #12 tees.

Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical wellbeing, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones. In addition, when we focus on something bigger than ourselves, like the power of nature, we get out of our own heads and notice that everyday life can be truly amazing. One of the most beautiful aspects of the Club is its many gardens. The gardens at the Club encompass approximately 12 acres, and the forest covers approximately 35 acres. Explore the Clubs gardens and enjoy the benefits of nature through walking along the gardens or nature trail.
