NEWSLETTER January, 2018
CTJC's New Program Model The Chicago Torture Justice Center believes that the work of healing from the trauma caused by police violence and institutional racism is integral to achieving the vision of justice and transformation we want in the world. We understand that the impact of police violence is felt deeply by individuals, families and communities and thus will require healing interventions across all these levels. And, we know that healing comes in many forms from sharing our laughter, our tears, our stories, learning together, and building strong connections with those around us.
From this foundation, CTJC will be offering a mix of services and activities in 2018. We will be providing individual counseling to all survivors of police torture and their families, support groups for people impacted by police violence, somatic healing opportunities, and community activities focused on learning, celebration, relationship, and healing. For more information or to make an appointment, please contact Rodney Walker at rodney@chicagotorturejustice.org or 773-962-0395.
