Help Us Find Our New Clinical Director
The Chicago Torture Justice Center is on the search for a dynamic, new Clinical Director to lead our politicized healing approach to clinical services. The Clinical Director has the crucial role of designing innovative trauma-informed services, educating on the impact of racialized violence, and integrating these two primary areas of mission driven work to support larger institutional and structural changes. If you know someone who is a licensed clinician (social worker, psychologist, etc.) and who might be interested, please have them check out the updated job description on the CTJC website (www.chicagotorturejustice.org) or have them email Cindy at cindy@chicagotorturejustice.org.

We are incredibly excited to introduce our newest member of CTJC, Gina Tarullo. Gina will be joining in a new role for the Center, Director of Resource and Impact Support. In her role, Gina will help build the sustainability and impact of the Center both through assisting with fundraising as well as capturing the necessary data and testimony that will allow us to best assess the Center’s programs. We are thrilled to have her.
“I so deeply respect and admire everyone I've come to know through CTJC. It is humbling for me to continue to work in collaboration with the powerful survivors, families, and staff who have built this healing community. I am excited to support the Center's historic vision and to help grow its capacity for the future!” - Gina Tarullo

This year marks the 5-year anniversary of the passage of the Reparations Ordinance. We want to acknowledge and celebrate this monumental and visionary ordinance throughout the year, and need your help. It took a community of survivors, activists, lawyers, educators, family members, artists, and more to achieve this victory. What are your reflections of where we are now, where we need to go, and what’s next? Please send your email reflections to aislinn@chicagotorturejustice.org or in the mail to 641 W. 63rd Chicago, IL 60621. We hope to publish these throughout the year on the Center’s new, upcoming blog. Thank you!

There are so many ways to show up for justice—in the streets, in the courts, in classrooms, and in tattoo shops! We were beyond thrilled and honored when Time Being Tattoo artists’ @MAGICTATTY, @SEMA.TATTOO, and @KEARA_MCGRAW— along with guest artists @JULIACAMPIONE at Good Omen Tattoo and @APROPERTATTOO at Copperplate Tattoo—offered to do a Flash Benefit drive for the Chicago Torture Justice Center. On Monday, February 25th proceeds from all tattoos done between 12pm to 9pm were given directly to the Center. Through these artists commitment to justice and to supporting the work of the Center, they were able to raise $4,410. All the money goes directly to support the programming of the Center, and we are incredibly grateful for their support. We couldn’t do this work without our community. Thank you! If you are inspired by the Flash Tattoo benefit, and have ideas for a fundraiser you’d like to organize let us know by email Gina at gina@chicagotorturejustice.org.
