Thirty years went by and in 1978 Cino handed the company over to a young industrialist, a leader in the field of steel tubing, with a love of cycling: Antonio Colombo. SUPERSTAR DISC The Superstar is carbon innovation in its finest form, featuring not only a unique frame shape but also flat mount disc brakes and 12mm through axles, this is, as the name suggests, Cinelli’s top-end endurance bike. The unique kinked top tube and special geometry ensures not only comfort, but also efficiency and performance over the longest distances. The Superstar Disc is the ideal bike for Gran Fondos or multi day events. Added rear clearance on the frame allows tyres up to 28c and disc rotors of up to 160mm. Additionally the Superstar features the new tapered Columbus Futura Disc Fork, equipped with a though axle (TA) system. The TA system has a number of advantages over the standard quickrelease system, namely the rigidity of the fork itself is increased, while

INTERNAL PU MOLDS During the manufacturing process special Internal PU molds stay inside the headtube and bottom bracket shell area whilst the carbon is curing. This increases compression between the layers of the carbon fibre, increasing strength and minimizing weight, as this process reduces the amount of resin needed in these areas of the frame.

SAETTA ITALO There are superficially almost no straight lines on the Saetta, with each tube section seamlessly blending into the next. LASER MIA The Cinelli Laser is an icon of bicycle design. Originally created in 1980, the Laser was something altogether radical, and represented Cinelli’s new total approach to design, spearheaded by Antonio Colombo. The Laser pioneered the use of TIG welding in bicycle frames, eliminating the need for lugs. The Laser enabled athletes to win 28 gold medals in Olympic and World Championship events.

MASH PARALLAX Following two years of testing collaboration with the MASH San Francisco team in the most challenging criterium races, Cinelli have designed the stunning MASH Parallax Cyanotype. MASH rider and Graphic designer, Garrett Chow, designed this beautiful frame. Cyanotype was the printing process used in the 20th century for architectural designs and blueprints: these colors and shapes were Chow’s inspiration for the frame design. The frame is constructed from Columbus Airplane tubing with variable thickness for improved aerodynamics; the Parallax is designed to be FAST.

This Columbus steel frame was developed in close partnership with the cult racer, bike messenger and adventurer Chas Christiansen. Chas travels extensively as well as racing alleycats, criteriums and cyclocross events. Chas set Cinelli the challenge to create a frame that could service all of these diverse needs, so the MASH Work was born.

VIGORELLI STEEL The Vigorelli celebrates the return of steel frames in competition riding. Constructed in Columbus Thron tubing and matched with a Columbus Futura Carbon fork, the Vigorelli was designed in conjunction with the riders of Team Cinelli Chrome, Red Hook Crit Champions. The frame construction allows for perfect weight distribution that only steel can produce. This is thanks to the advanced engineering of the different steel tube diameters for different parts of the frame.
