10 Questions with

Yaasmin Shukla

1. When you were young what did you dream of being?

Something glamorous associated with beauty, I remember when I was 3 years old I stole my mum red lipstick and would smear them all over my face most ended over the white sheets. I’ve always loved cosmetics, perfumes and accessories.

2. What modelling you like best jewellery, wedding dresses, Dresses, fit modelling?

I enjoy Jewellery Modelling as the focus is on the Jewellery; it’s about modelling the product making it look good not overtaking it but being subtle. I also love modelling wedding dresses; I’ve been lucky to model both eastern and western bridal dresses, I love them both however eastern brides takes much longer getting ready! On the cover of Cattura Vanity magazine I’m modelling a purple Arabic bridal dress for the first time, where you are covered from head to toe in

soft floaty fabric with only face is on show… (at least you don’t have to worry about your hair). Fit Modelling is different entirely; as you have to make sure the product is perfect in size. I have done fit modelling for shoes for Marks and Spencer in London. Every time I had a fitting session my feet were measured so every shoe, sandal, slipper and boot would fit in a perfect size 5. Also with Fit Modelling you’re are working looking at styles 6 months to a year in advance so you know what’s coming out.

3. Who is your favourite designer?

I love Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld; however The Versace designs modelled by supermodels from the 90’s inspire me greatly, loved the over the top designs and colours.
