Brambly Hedge Activity Sheets

Mr Apple, warden of the Store Stump, was the last to leave for home. By the time he reached Crabapple cottage, the first flakes were beginning to fall.

The next morning when the Toadflax family went down to breakfast, Mrs Toadflax put fresh wood on the fire and set Clover to work with the toasting fork. Soon they were all eating hot buttered toast and making plans for the day ahead.

As soon as they were safely tucked up, their parents returned to the Ball. Basil made some hot blackberry punch and the dancing got faster and faster.

It was the most beautiful morning. The spring sunshine crept into every cottage along Brambly Hedge. All the mice were up early, but earliest of all was Wilfred Toadflax – it was his birthday and he couldn’t wait to open all his presents!
