It begins like this: “Imagine a family of foxes – Mum, Dad and the four of us little cubs – living in our den under a garden shed in Leicester. That’s us. I am the oldest, and I am the boss cub too, the friskiest, the peskiest, the pushiest. Dad likes that because it reminds him of himself, he says. Writing challenge Write a short story about an animal that has an adventure, just like the foxes in The Fox and the Ghost King. To help create a character, think of three superlatives (adjectives that show the most of a quality, like busiest or tallest) and use these to help your character on his adventure.
