CVI is the leading cause of visual impairment in children but too often goes undiagnosed and/or untreated. This training will help you identify, assess and support children across your professional practices. Knowing more about specialized approaches for students with CVI can result in more effective results for the family, the provider and, of course, the child.
CVI Range: Approach to support children with CVI
During the first 4 days of the training we will cover Identification of CVI, the Assessment process and Support, Intervention and Accommodation to help these children.

The last two days will be practical hands-on training, where you will have the opportunity to:
Observe Dr Christine Roman-Lantzy and Lindsay Hillier complete CVI Range Assessments with 2 Children.
Under the supervision and guidance of Dr Roman-Lantzy and Lindsay Hillier, you will:
Conduct, score and interpret The CVI Range for each child present, provide the Range Score to parents.
Use the results of The CVI Range to describe a student’s functional vision strengths and needs.
Identify the parent’s priority for their child and create a childspecific plan which will include:
Create a CVI schedule using the Routine Building Blocks with a list of activities and routines that happen throughout the child’s day, and that could include a visual element
