Step 1 - Observation
Schoolsupportbeginswithanorientationmeetingwiththeteamandfamily,followedbyafull-dayvirtualobservationofthe studentduringatypicalschoolday. PediatricVIEWgathersinformationaboutthestudent'shistory,routine,activities,and environments,andgeneratesacomprehensivewrittenreportoutliningstrengths,challenges,andprioritiesforsupport The observationconcludeswithateammeetingtoreviewthefindingsanddiscussrecomendationsandprioritiesforschool support.
Step 2 - Determining a Service Model
ServicemodelsaredevelopedwithinputfromPediatricVIEW,theschoolteam,andthefamily. Areasofconsultationand supportareidentified Thesemightinclude:
in team meetings
Developing and participating in the IEP
Comprehensive Model
Training on CVI for staff and team
Developing and participating in the IEP
Regular direct coaching with staff and student
Identifying/reducing environmental complexity
An intensive frequency of support, with two or more sessions occurring per week
Consultative Model
A moderate frequency of support, with approximate 2-4 sessions occurring per month
Ideal for schools with specific and defined needs, or to extend a school support model
