Management Committee Reported by: Mr Edwin Lee - Club President

Introduction During the financial year in review, the Club faced head on inflationary headwinds from all quarters of its operations - a sustained tight labour market compounded by a further adjustment to the foreign worker levy and dependency ratio, lower income from slot machines and rent, amidst a generally pessimistic club membership landscape. Notwithstanding the challenges, I am pleased to report that the Club managed to turn in commendable results in various areas of the Club’s core business as highlighted in the ensuing pages of this Annual Report.

Highlights of the Year For the financial year ending 31 December 2016, after accounting for depreciation and tax expenditure of $3,498,894 and $152,073 respectively, the Club’s bottom line was a mere deficit of $25,836, well below the budgeted deficit of $1,506,312. The contributing factors that helped to reduce the deficit included various cost-containment measures and better performance seen in various departments, namely, F&B, Sports & Games and Flex Gym as well as a one-time consolidated property tax rebate amounting to $402,843.66.

Man Zhu New Menu

The Club’s F&B outlets recorded a total revenue increment of 1% to $3.7 million due to higher patronage. To better serve diners at Man Zhu café, an international fusion menu was introduced for members to enjoy an eclectic mix of Korean, Thai and Japanese cuisine. Over at 3 Bars, the renovation works to create a new bistro and additional seating capacity has attracted more members to patronize the outlet with an 11% increase in annual sales to $1.13 million. In 2016, despite the Club industry being affected by the lacklustre interest in club memberships due to the land acquisition of various golf clubs in recent years, a total of 160 membership transfers were transacted to third parties. This helped the Club to reap income of $960,000. The strategic emphasis on the Club’s swimming programme continued to bear fruit as the section recorded an enrolment of 819 registered swimmers with the numbers still growing. The Club also hosted the inaugural Super Junior Swimming Invitational on 3 and 4 September 2016 with great success. The 1st Super Junior Swimming Invitational

meet attracted 430 swimmers from both local and overseas clubs and was widely featured in the local press and social media. I am proud to report that the Club’s swimmers outdid themselves and clinched the Meet championship title. The Club is quietly confident of making it an iconic Meet for aspiring high performing junior swimmers in Singapore and the region. The Club’s bowlers performed well and were crowned the Champion at the 22nd Inter-Club Mixed League Championship.

29 staff were recognized for their exemplary services at the Excellent Service Award (EXSA) 2016. I would like to take this opportunity to commend the Club’s employees for their loyalty, efforts and value-added contributions in maintaining the Club’s facilities, activities and services but most importantly, for ensuring high member satisfaction year on year.

Congratulations to all CSC staff who were awarded the Excellent Service Award (EXSA) in 2016. Aimed at developing service models for staff to emulate, create service champions and professionalise services, the EXSA is a national award that recognises individuals who have consistently demonstrated outstanding service.

In 2016, the Club continued to do its part to help the less fortunate in the community. With the combined efforts of staff, members and guests, a total of $20,584.44 was raised and channeled to the President’s Challenge 2016.

Cheng Siew Lan Candy Property Leow Geok Lin Winnie Tan Su Kim Wendy F&B Sports & Lifestyle Our analysis also revealed that these younger members tend not to hold on to their CSC memberships. The implication of such a trend is that the Club will become a predominantly “seniors” citizen club in time to come. Financially, the 50% senior members’ concession scheme will result in the Club forgoing massive income from members’ subscriptions and younger members having to pay disportionately higher subscriptions to maintain the Club’s operations. This is not a tenable situation for the Club to persist and regretfully, the Management Committee had to make the hard decision to cease this scheme since January 2017.

The Management Committee has its work cut out in the new term given the facts and figures obtained from the data analytics exercise as well as the prevailing climate for clubs in Singapore. I foresee much brainstorming and work to be done and drafting of a much needed master plan to safeguard the Club’s longevity and members’ interest.

Appreciation Last but not least, I would like to express my gratitude to all members, my fellow colleagues for their continued faith in the leadership of the Management Committee to help steer the Club safely through the anticipated headwinds and obstacles so that the Club will stay relevant, competitive and financially viable for the next lap. House & Grounds Committee Reported by: Mr Wu Chee Yiun - Chairman

Introduction The year 2016 marked another challenging year for the Club with the expansion of the Members’ Bar with a new annex wine bistro, the replacement of air-conditioning system to the changing rooms, bowling alley, Manzhu Café and the main kitchen. As in past years, the House & Grounds Committee continued to provide its support to the Club’s property management team to facilitate quality and excellence in its day-to day maintenance, housekeeping, security and safety of the Club premises.

2.

Award of Major Contract – Security Ser vices

Due to the introduction of a Progressive Wage Model implemented by the authorities for the security industry in 2016, the committee reviewed and reduced 1 guard after 11pm to save cost. In addition, to ensure competitive pricing, quotes from several security agencies were solicited to compare against the incumbent agent’s quotes. As the existing contractor quotes remained the lowest, the contract was renewed for another term in January 2017.

The House & Grounds is always mindful of the rising cost of maintenance and will work closely with the Club management to ensure that the upkeep of the Club facilities, its safety, security and aesthetics are managed cost effectively and efficiently and that members’ enjoyment of the quality and standard of Club facilities is not compromised.

Appreciation The House & Grounds Committee would like to express its gratitude to the Management Committee, Standing Committees and the staff and management of CSC for their effort and support in making 2016 a good year. P10 ANNUAL REPORT 2016

As part of the marketing strategies to attract new members, membership booth was set up at various marketing events, such as the Halloween Charity Bazaar and Christmas Bazaar to promote the sale of Ordinary and Term Memberships. The Committee also continued with the Member-Get-Member scheme where members would be rewarded when they refer friends or associates to join the Club as members. A total of 41 referrals were made for Ordinary Membership and 9 referrals were made for Term Membership during the year. On 17 November 2016, new members were invited to a pool side party at 3 Bars for them to get to know the Club and network with fellow members.

Looking Ahead

Appreciation

A comprehensive data analysis on the members’ profile was conducted during the year. The Committee is concerned with the large number of members, approximately 36% of the Club’s active membership who are currently holding single membership.

I would like to extend my appreciation to fellow Committee members as well as the staff for their valuable time and contributions.

The data shows that this group of members tends to transfer their membership after being with the Club for 10 years or less. The study also indicated that the rate of membership acquisition fell below the churn rate (i.e. percentage rate of members leaving the Club) for the past 5 years and this trend shall continue if the issue is not being addressed.

COMPOSITION OF MEMBERSHIP AS AT 31 DECEMBER 2016

Going forward, the Committee anticipates another challenging year as it continues to review the Club’s Constitution and marketing campaigns at targeted groups of members to maintain the marketability of the Club’s membership.

Regional Networking Committee Reported by: Mr Joseph Low - Chairman

Introduction It has been a rewarding year for the Committee as it continued to explore more recreational and sporting facilities for Chinese Swimming Club members, both locally and regionally. As at 31 December 2016, members would have enjoyed access to 17 Reciprocal Clubs, 9 Affiliate Clubs and preferential rates at 16 hotels and resorts in the region.

Highlights of the Year The Committee commenced the year with new preferential rates offered by Eco Tree Hotel in Malacca and Olive Tree Hotel in Penang so members could have more accommodation options for their holidays whenever they visit the region. On 17 November 2016, the Club hosted a Joint Members’ Cocktail Reception with One°15 Marina Club by the pool at the Recreation Complex which was well attended by members from both Clubs. In addition, 10 & 10 Sports Trading, Li-Ning Sports as well as Bodynits continued to extend exclusive deals and discounts to members who patronized these shops for their sports merchandise.

Party @ RC Poolside

Looking Ahead Moving forward, the Committee stays committed to expand its network of reciprocal and affiliate clubs as well as to seek out preferential arrangements with established merchants to cater to the varied needs of its members.

Appreciation

Hotel Novotel (Siam Square)

Last but not least, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the members of the Committee for their unwavering support and contributions throughout the past year.

P12 ANNUAL REPORT 2016

Tender Committee Reported by: Mr Tan Lai Choon - Chairman

Introduction The objective of the Tender Committee is to promote and facilitate transparency of procedures in the award of contracts for goods and services required for the Club’s day-to-day operations and needs. The Tender Committee is pleased to present its report on the various tender exercises undertaken by the Club in 2016.

Highlights of the Year Award of Air-conditioning System replacement at Sports Complex, Level 1 Changing Rooms and Towel Counter, Bowling Alley and Manzhu Café. • With the aging of the air-conditioning system and increase in breakdowns over the years, the Management Committee authorized the House and Grounds Committee to call for a tender for the replacement of Air-conditioning System for the aforementioned areas. • Three contractors attended the site show and submitted their bid for the tender. • After a series of short listing, interviewing and price negotiation, the contract was finally awarded to M/S Daikin AirConditioning (Singapore) Pte Ltd at a contract sum of S$420,704.

Looking Ahead The Club’s General Cleaning Services contract, Kitchen Cleaning & Dish Washing Services contract and Security Guards Services contract are due in FY2017. This Committee will continue to play its part to ensure transparency in the procedure for calling and award of tenders by the Club.

Appreciation I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Management Committee, as well as my fellow committee members and the staff of CSC for their contributions, effort and support in the past year. 12 Lanes

ANNUAL REPORT 2016 P13

Human Resource Committee Reported by: Mr Michael Leong - Chairman

Introduction One of the core strategies of the Club is to create a people-centred organisation, which aims to achieve excellence in service through talented and motivated people to fulfill the needs of its members and long term vision. The Human Resource Committee’s objective is therefore focused on supporting and facilitating the Human Resource Management of the Club so that its entire operations which are managed and maintained by staff, continue to succeed with consistent staff service quality, high member satisfaction and sustained business results.

Manpower Statistics The Club’s average operating staff strength including part timers for 2016 was 154 and staff ratio in 2016 between full time and part time was 21:1 and staff to member ratio was 1:100 Total payroll cost in 2016 increased by 4% as compared to 2015. This increase is attributed to the following: •

Increase in Foreign Workers’ Levy and changes in the Foreign Worker Dependency Ratio Ceiling, contributing to an increase of 1%

Higher payroll cost due to annual increment, staff promotions and market adjustment for certain positions, contributing to an actual wage increase of 3%. Real wage increases for employees was actually 1.8% given the average core inflation rate of 1.2% in 2016.

Highlights of the Year The Club continued to face challenges in recruitment especially amidst the tight service and hospitality industry. In 2016, this was compounded by the government tightening foreign worker dependency quota as well as further increasing the foreign worker levy. In addition, it has been difficult for the Club to fill lower-paying jobs with local workers as the bulk of retiring workers had a lower education profile compared to the younger cohorts entering the workforce. Staff retention remained a top priority for the Club as the difficulty to replace staff will put a strain on its day-to-day operations and affect members’ expected level of service quality. Maintaining staff productivity was key given the current economic and manpower landscape. In 2016, the Human Resource Department conducted a manpower requirement analysis in consultation with all other departments, to review the manpower strength and job descriptions within each department in comparison to other similar clubs to ensure comparable service standards are maintained. In certain departments, job enlargement and job re-design were implemented to provide better service standards and to drive higher staff productivity and efficiency. This review exercise is on-going and will continue into 2017. The Club also capitalised on the Workpro Job Re-design grant to defray training costs and defer manpower costs. In 2016 staff development and training were maintained and even enhanced to improve on staff service standards, productivity and efficiency as well as to help our employees learn new skills to prepare for future needs. Some examples of enhanced training courses which our staff attended in 2016 included the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT), Conversational English for Service Staff, Strength and Conditioning Workshop, Event Management and Marketing Using Social Media. The above courses are on top of the yearly recurring training of Automated External Defibrillator (AED),

P14 ANNUAL REPORT 2016

Excellent Service Award (EXSA), etc. The Club has always placed staff service quality as a priority and in 2016, our staff continued to show their mettle in the delivery of excellent service to members by obtaining 4 Star, 5 Gold and 20 Silver awards at the Annual EXSA Awards. The Star Award winners included : Jennifer Teh, Steven Chew and Teo Hong Chay (Food & Beverage); Aileen An (Membership Relations). The Gold Award winners included : Edmund Lee, Elaine Tan, Law Fang Ying and Louis Goh (Food & Beverage); Agnes Ong (Finance). The Silver Award winners included : Koh Vin Xen, Teoh Choon Kuoh, Wong Shan Qin, Cheng Chek Ching, Kenny Chong, Goh Jin Sen, Winnie Leow, Harold Qian, Stanley Tew and Ting Yen Ling (Food & Beverage); Channel Chow (Finance); Lily Lim and Jacqueline Ong (Membership Relations); Candy Cheng, Cindy Lim, Jenny Wai, Rain Wang and Yeoh Chew Yit (Property); Muhd Syaikhul Rizal B Sulaiman and Wendy Tan (Sports & Lifestyle). The Club truly appreciates these valued employees for going out of their way in providing quality service to members.

Looking Ahead Continuing the trend from the previous year, the Club recognises that further growth in the local workforce would be muted. In light of this, the Committee firmly believes that the key success factor lies with continued training and development to gear up its workforce to be more productive and to ensure the Club maintains its competitive edge in the Club industry market. The Club will also explore the use of technology to build a strong organizational core to ensure its long term sustainability The Committee will continue to support the Club’s human resource management to ensure the Club’s long term business objectives are met.

Appreciation

CSC Halloween & Staff Charity Bazzar

I wish to record my appreciation to the Management Committee, my fellow committee members and the Club’s administration for their support and contribution to the various HR activities and programmes to ensure the Club’s employees continue to contribute to its continued viability and success as a premier club.

ANNUAL REPORT 2016 P15

Finance Committee Reported by: Mr Vincent Kuek - Chairman

Introduction For the year ended 31 Dec 2016, the Club had an EBITDA of $3.22M against budgeted EBITDA of $2.434M, yielding a positive variance of $788k. After accounting for depreciation and tax expenditure of $3.65M, the Club’s bottom line was a deficit of $429k, well above the budgeted deficit of $1.506M by $1.078M. We are pleased to report that the Club’s objection for the higher annual value on its buildings from 2007 onwards was finally reviewed by IRAS and rebates on the Club’s property tax was extended. This one-time consolidated tax rebate further reduced the Club’s 2016 bottom line deficit by $403,000 resulting in a small deficit of $25,836. However, with effect from 2016 onwards, the base rate for the Club’s property tax has been revised upwards from S$1,478,000 in 2007 to S$3,102,000. This constitutes a 110% jump in property tax, going forward. In summary, this better performance in 2016 was largely brought about through continued prudence in management of the Club’s activities in deficit while at the same time maximizing revenue collection from its various income sources.

Highlights of the Year 1. Lifestyle & Flex Lifestyle & Flex surplus increased by 59% from $78,000 to $124,000. The main contributor is from Flex Gym with a surplus from $144,000 in 2015 to $185,000 in 2016. This increase was higher by 40% as compared to the budget largely due to upgrading of Flex gym in 2015 which has attracted more members signing up as section members and also higher take up rate for personal training. 2. Jackpot Operation Turnover for Joy Luck Cove was 21.5% lower year on year coupled with a higher payout ratio. Net surplus dropped by 28% to $1.7m, $685k lower than FY2015. This result is also lower than the budget target of $2.1m for 2016. Given the weaker economic outlook, the Committee foresees fruit machine operations revenue to remain flat in FY2017. 3. Food & Beverage Operation Food & Beverage revenue which forms 22% of the Club’s revenue saw a slight increase (0.5%) in sales as compared to FY2015. 3 Bars margins improved by 4% coupled with prudent cost control measures, 3 Bars net deficit reduced from $175,000 in 2015 to $75,000 in 2016. Manzhu Café also achieved improvements with its net deficit reduced by 21% from a deficit of $201,000 to $159,000.

P16 ANNUAL REPORT 2016

4. Sports & Games Sports and Games registered revenue of $1,833,000 in 2016 which is a 8.2% increase from $1,693,000 in 2015. This was largely contributed from Tennis and Swimming with revenue increases of 27% and 8% respectively. The inaugural Super Junior event was successfully organized for the first time in Sep 2016 under Swimming section and through this event, it contributed to 6% of total Swimming revenue. Overall, Super Junior event achieved a surplus of $15,000 which contributed to 23% of the total surplus for the Swimming section.

Super Junior Swimming International 2016

5. Sundr y Income Interest income increased by 49% from $162,000 to $241,000. The high variances were due to the Club’s decision to gradually move its funds from the traditional 12-month time deposit into higher yielding but longer tenure structured deposits or debt instruments (eg. bonds) in accordance to the Club’s Investment Policy. 6. Administrative Operating Expenses Administrative operating expenditure was well managed close to the FY2015 levels and lower than the budget by 3%. 7. Club Premises Expenses Club premises expenditure was $54,000 lower than the budget due to better cost control on Repair and Maintenance expenditure by the Club.

Looking Ahead Although the Club has performed better compared to FY2015 by 89% or $220,000 on year-on-year, cost inflation, higher maintenance cost, higher depreciation expenditure, a 110% jump in property tax, the 30% hike in water tariffs, the compounded 59% increase in foreign worker levy over the past years coupled with lower income anticipated from membership transfers and fruit machine operations will pose as an enormous challenge to the Club financially in the coming years. The Finance Committee and the Management Committee took a very hard decision in increasing members’ subscription fees in FY2017 to ensure that the Club does not run into negative EBITDA and that there will be sufficient cash reserves for the Club’s next renewal of lease due in 2032. Be that as it may, cost containment and raising alternate revenue streams will remain the Committee’s main focus. The journey ahead will be tough but with members’ continuous support and understanding, the Finance Committee and the Management Committee will continue to do its best to press on and establish the Club as the most prestigious swimming club in Singapore while managing its the financial affairs in a prudent and responsible manner, to ensure its continued viability for the next lap.

Appreciation I would like to express my gratitude to my fellow members of the Management Committee and the Finance Committee and not forgetting the staff of Chinese Swimming Club for their invaluable support and contributions during this term of office.

ANNUAL REPORT 2016 P17

Food & Beverage Committee Reported by: Mr Jonathan Kuah - Chairman

Introduction The Food & Beverage department had a vibrant year with an array of events in 2016. Three Bars in particular, achieved healthy revenue growth led by higher contribution from food sales. The newly launched bistro bar in Three Bars launched its first poolside themed party, Caribbean Dreams, which was well received by CSC members and reciprocal members from One° 15 Marina Club. Man Zhu’s new menu also received encouraging feedbacks, complimenting the quality of food and widened varieties offered.

Highlights of the Year Total revenue increased 1% to $3.74m during the year despite disruptive renovation downtime for both Man Zhu and Three Bars. Notwithstanding the disruption, operating deficit was reduced to $66,000 compared to 2015 at $163,000. Man Zhu and Three Bars managed to retain its “A” rating accorded by the National Environmental Agency for the sixth consecutive year. The award is testament of our staff’s efforts in maintaining and upholding the hygiene standards for the Club’s F&B outlets. Man Zhu Café The café’s revenue was disrupted by a 2-week closure in December as a result of scheduled air-conditioning system replacement. The closure resulted in a 4% drop in FY 2016’s revenue. Excluding the air-conditioner replacement downtime, Man Zhu’s sales has been rising. To freshen up the offerings a revamped menu which featured international fusion selections such as Korean Kimchi Soup, Dengaku Miso Black Cod and Thai Mango Sticky Rice were introduced. Co-branding initiatives were introduced to expand the culinary options to our diners. Working with external suppliers, Manzhu was able to supplement its menu with the likes of London Duck, Yoghurt & Sandwich Ice Cream, Vita Coco and new cake varieties. Manzhu ended the year with a marginal 1% increase in operating deficit of S$202k despite the disruption caused by the air-conditioner replacement. Dengaku Miso Black Cod

Three Bars Three Bars achieved an 11% increase in sales to $1.13m in 2016. The improvement in sales was largely due to the expansion of the seating capacity, introduction of a new menu and the upselling of push cart food at the alfresco. Food sales at Three Bars surged 16% in 2016 as a result of these initiatives.

P18 ANNUAL REPORT 2016

Looking Ahead In the months ahead, we anticipate food cost, water bill and labour cost to continue its ascend. However, we are well prepared for the cost increase as management and committee members have been working diligently to counter the cost pressure with innovative technology and renewed processes. We have recently upgraded our POS system, procured more mobile ordering iPads and introduced a mobile wireless bill settlement equipment which will enhance efficiency and improve the level of service to our members. Moving forward, we are also looking to expand the take-away retail products at Man Zhu. We also intend to introduce more engaging, exciting and trendy events at Three Bars. The F&B Committee will continue to maintain or enhance the delivery of quality services to our members at reasonable prices. More resources and efforts will be channelled towards the improvement of food quality, consistency and varieties at competitive prices. To ensure that prices stays reasonable amidst rising costs, we will continue to be innovative and creative in pushing for further improvement in efficiency. We also wish to take this opportunity to thank members for their feedback throughout the year. The feedback has helped us further enhance our dining experiences for our members and their families.

Team CSC did well and eventually took overall 3rd position. And for the Patrons’ Cup which was held at Seletar Country Club, Johnny Tan beat out competition from 48 other golfers to lift the Cup. The Soon Peng Yam Challenge Trophy winner for Overall Best Gross went to David Pigot with a score of 78 strokes. The ever popular overseas golfing trips received good sign-ups and 2 trips of one-night stay overs in Batam were organised in the past year - golfers tee-off in the midst of serenity at the Palm Spring Golf & Country Club, Tering Bay Golf & Country Club and South Links Country Club. After a satisfying time on the golf course, the happy golfers scooted for a relaxing massage, scrumptious food and shopping. I also express my appreciation to the Management Committee and Sports & Games Committee for their kind support. Finally, a big thank you to all faithful Section members for their encouragement and spontaneous support at the various events. “Members’ Interests Come First” Golf Batam Trip cum May Medal

Highlights of the Year The year under review brimmed with much excitement as 3 teams of elite CSC representatives rose to the challenge and pitted against 22 strong contenders in the Men’s D, E & Veteran at the National Squash League. Albeit the stiff competition, the undeterred teams displayed laudable sportsmanship. The long anticipated annual friendly match with the Japanese National Selection Team was held on 26 August. Barely a few hours, earnest Section members extended their hospitality to our special guests for quality time of renewed or newfound friendships. The cultural exchange certainly left team CSC wanting for more of such gatherings in the following year. The Youth Squash Training Programme received splendid responses to kick start this year. The developmental programme provided a stable foundation to nurture and also instill greater passion for up and coming young players in the sport.

Looking Ahead Moving forward, the Sub-Committee aims to boost the Youth Squash Training Programme with concurrent tactical avenues to effectively draw younger members into the Section. The Sub-Committee is also excited to render our support towards the President’s Challenge 2017.

Appreciation I wish to extend my appreciation towards members of the Management Committee and Sports & Games Committee for their utmost support and believe in us. I would like to also extend my heartfelt thanks to the Sub-Committee members for their dedication and commitment in the planning and executing of realizing the plans for various events and activities come to fruition.

Taekwondo Sub-Committee Reported by: Mr Tay Hee Ann - Convenor

Introduction For the year under review, CSC Taekwondo Programme has recruited 70 trainees and counting. I am elated to report that the Club is currently leading with the highest and youngest Poom-Belt trainees listed in Singapore.

Highlights of the Year The quarterly Supplementary Gradings which was organised by Singapore Taekwondo Federation continued to enjoy high attendance. CSC trainees continued to retain their 100 percent passing rate at the quarterly supplementary gradings. The long anticipated Annual Taekwondo Camp which was held on 19 June was well attended by 28 trainees. At the 1 day enrichment camp, the band of trainees had the opportunity to be more focused as they honed various sparring skillsets and techniques while fostering stronger camaraderie. The sparring session also reminded the Section of the essence of the sport - discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Looking Ahead For the year ahead, the Sub-Committee is looking into organising an Invitational Competition so that trainees will be able to out their skills to the test their skills and gain added exposure on the inter-club arena.

Appreciation I would like to thank the members of the Sub-Committee and also Coach Nordon Lim for their commitment and relentless support to the Section in 2016. Last but not least, I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Management Committee as well as the Sports & Games Committee for their unfailing support through the years. ANNUAL REPORT 2016 P37

Tennis Sub-Committee Reported by: Mr David Khoe - Convenor

Introduction For the past year, the Tennis fraternity had a burst of numerous exciting inter-club tournaments and friendly games, with Tennis Invitational Tournament 2016 as the lead event of the year. I am heartened to have a team of enthusiastic and passionate Section who diligently participated in the various activities that were organised.

Highlights of the Year CSC renewed its camaraderie with the Tennis fraternity of Singapore Swimming Club over an annual friendly game hosted at the Club premise on 30 January. The event was aimed to strengthen the ties of both clubs while members engaged in a good time of get-together over their favourite sport. The highlight of the year was none other than the CSC Invitational Tennis Tournament which was hosted by the Club on the 7 and 8 May. We were honoured to have the presence of participants who hailed from Penang Sports Club, Kelab Darul Ehsan and Singapore Swimming Club (SSC). The tournament ensued into a series of uptight competition and finally CSC Team A clinched the Champion title and SSC took the position of 1st Runner up position. And on 16 April, Section members and their families had an evening of fun during the Annual Tennis Team Challenge and Annual Tennis Section Gathering. We were happy to have receive the kind assistance from Tennis Allegiance Group (TAG) at the tournament.

Looking Ahead In the year ahead, the Sub-Committee plans to work on more in-house tournaments and activities to engage young budding club players. Section members may also look forward to more action-packed activities in the months to come.

Appreciation I would like to express my sincerest gratitude towards the Management Committee and Sports & Games Committee for having stood by the Sub-Committee over the years. Special thanks also goes to the Sports Awards Committee, for presenting the Team Award Of The Year to the CSC Tennis Men’s Team in recognition for their glorious victory as Champion of the STA Inter-Club Doubles League 2015 ‘B’ Division. On behalf of the Sub-Committee, I wish to extend our utmost thanks to the CSC Tennis players for their continuous participation. I would also like to express our deepest appreciation for all who had voluntarily given their time and efforts over the past year. Last but not the least, I wish to thank Section Patron Mr Koh Chee Hua and Kohup Sports Pte for their generosity and relentless support towards the promotion of the sport.

ANNUAL REPORT 2016 P41

ANNUAL REPORT 2016 P43

a)

P44 ANNUAL REPORT 2016

P48 ANNUAL REPORT 2016

P50 ANNUAL REPORT 2016

4.

P52 ANNUAL REPORT 2016
