PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Dear Members A very Happy New Year! I hope the New Year will usher in good tidings of peace, joy and good health for you and your family. Firstly, we thank you members for your forbearance during the 2-week closure as the Club undertook the upgrading work to enhance members’ comfort and dining pleasure at Man Zhu café. I am also delighted to note the overwhelming turnout of our young swimming trainees at the Meet-and-Greet session with Joseph Schooling, where our reigning sports hero shared his insights and experience as a high-performing swimmer. The Club is also thrilled and honoured to have Joseph grace the grand opening of the Sports Gym on 25 November. Do refer to the ensuing pages for more highlights of this event. On behalf of the Club, I would like to welcome onboard our new ballroom operator, The Grand Patros, by the Kinara Group, who has commenced operations since 1 December 2016 providing Mexican and contemporary Indian cuisine. As Chinese New Year beckons, the Sports and Lifestyle Department has planned a myriad of exciting activities for all members. Also mark your calendar for the highly anticipated Spring Festival and enjoy this Lunar New Year in a special way with your family and friends. Last but not least, the Management Committee and Club administration would like to take this opportunity to wish all members a very Happy and Prosperous New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
Shalom and God Bless

19TH CSC-SIA GROUP SPORTS CLUB BILATERAL GAMES SIA Group Sports Club (SIAGSC) played host to the games this year. Determined to wrestle the challenge trophy which was last won in 2006, the host put out a strong line-up to claim the first two points from Billiards & Snooker on 30 October and Golf on 2 November. Although CSC pulled back two points from Bowling and Tennis as well as sharing the point for Badminton on 2 November, SIA conquered the winning titles at Squash and Table Tennis. All players tossed the rivalry out of the window over a beer or two during the grand buffet dinner. Club Captain Mr John Chew then presented the Challenge trophy to SIAGSC and promised to host a grand 20th Bilateral Games next year. Mr John Chew presenting the Challenge Trophy to SIAGSC
