nOTE FROM PRESIDENT
Dear Members I am pleased to note that the Club’s Halloween themed Open House cum Charity Bazaar was held successfully on 29 October. I would like to thank all members and staff for their support and contributions to raise funds for the less fortunate in our community. All net proceeds generated from the event would be channeled to the President’s Challenge 2016. Members may have noticed that upgrading work to some facilities in the Club are currently underway. The renovation work at Activity Suite 1 to convert it to a Sports Gym will be completed soon. The Sports Gym is scheduled to open in late November and it is supposed to support the various competitive sports training programmes offered by the Club. Man Zhu café and partial areas of the Bowling Alley will also be temporarily closed for the upgrading work of the air-conditioning system in these facilities. We seek your kind understanding and forbearance on the possible disruptions to the operations of these facilities. Please refer to the bulletin page for more information as well as other Club news. As reported at the 101st Annual General Meeting, Imperial Treasure had advised the Club that they are not renewing their lease when it expires in November 2016. We are glad to inform that a new operator, Kinara, will take over the premises with effect from 1 December 2016. For members looking to get into the Christmas spirit will be glad to know that the theme this year will be “Christmas is Home”. Members can look forward to some bespoke, handcrafted decorative items in the upcoming festive decors which members can acquire and purchase. For the first time, Christmas carollers as well as a roving Santa Claus will be some of the highlight happenings this Christmas. All net proceeds generated from the sale of festive items will be channeled to the President’s Challenge 2016. With the year end swiftly approaching, the Sports & Lifestyle Department, as well as the F&B Department has planned a varied list of activities suitable for members of all ages. For more updates on the activities, please refer to the ensuing pages. Last but not least, on behalf of the Management and administrative staff of the Club, I wish all members and their families a holy and blessed Christmas.
Shalom and God Bless Edwin Lee, President 3

MOONFEST PARTY 45 youths had an enriching time on 17 September as they celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival with none other than the Moon Goddess (Chang’E). Other not-to-be-missed fun moments included face painting and a creative workshop of teapot making. The enthusiastic crowd had the chance to learn more about the variations of mooncakes and tea pairing with the festive dessert. As dusk approached, the youths headed for a short lantern procession as practiced in the good old days.
CHARITY DANCE PARTY The spirit of giving was manifested on the dance floor on 24 September as the happy dancers pranced through the evening and supported the event in the name of charity! The section donated the proceeds to the President’s Challenge 2016. Dressed up to the nines, members and their guests seemed to enjoy countless “cameo moments” as they paraded in their impressive fascinators and hats. Indeed their efforts were paid off as the judges decided to award an additional prize award for the best dressed.

Poh Ee Jin, 14, (joined January 2015)
James Tan, 13, (joined March 2015)
Current Portfolio: Anglo Chinese Secondary Institute (ACSI), “C” Division Ee Jin was a swimmer with CSC during his primary school days. He was an explosive swimmer who decided to take his skill sets to CSC’s Junior Water Polo team in January 2015. Having trained with the team for a year, he is currently one of the key and starting players in his academic curriculum.
Lewin, 13 (joined September 2014) Current Portfolio: Hwa Chong Institution, “C” Division
Current Academic Curriculum: Anglo Chinese School (Barker) Others: “C” Division Water Polo School Nationals James and his “never-say-never” mandate secured him a spot in the selection by the National U13 team to represent Singapore in the 2nd PRAKL Age Group Invitational Water Polo (only the top 15 players of the age group from all schools and clubs in Singapore were chosen after 2 rounds of selection).
Ryan Tan, 13 (joined September 2015) Current Portfolio: Outram Secondary School
Lewin started his water polo journey at the age of 11. Without a particularly strong swimming background, Lewin’s inquisitive nature allowed him to narrow the gaps with his peers.
Ryan is one of our pioneer players in CSC Junior Water Polo team.
Sim Euan, 13 (joined March 2015) Current Academic Curriculum: ACS Barker taking part in the “C” Division Water Polo School Nationals Others: “C” Division Water Polo School Nationals Euan, although with less than a year of training in the sport, was also selected for the Singapore U13 squad to compete in the 2nd PRAKL Age Group Invitational Water Polo as the best 15 players of their age group.
You do not need to be a strong swimmer to begin with. Grab a registration form from the Sports Reception and come for a free trial evaluated by Coach Lim Yaoxiang during one of the sessions.
