MESSAGE PRESIDENT'SSMESSAGE 2 PRESIDENT
Dear Members I am glad to inform members that the amendment to our constitution has been approved by the Registry of Societies on 13th June 2018. For the past few months, the Membership Relations Committee has been hard at work deliberating and reviewing updates to our Bye-laws as the new amendments affect Spouse, Child and Junior Memberships. Affected members will be notified by the Club for any necessary action. The revised Club Constitution and Bye-laws are posted on the Club’s website for members’ easy reference and hard copies will be available for members at the Front Office. The 3rd CSC Super Junior Invitational 2018 held on 30th June and 1st July was a great success. We received overwhelming response in registration from local and foreign swimming clubs. I would like to congratulate Swim CSC for emerging as the overall champion for the third consecutive year and CSC Swimmers, Jeroy Teo and Reagan Cheng who had won the Most Valuable Swimmer Award in their respective age groups. Eight CSC Swimmers represented Singapore in the 42nd SEA Age Group Swimming Championship 2018 held from 6th to 8th July. The Singapore contingent won a total of 7 Gold, 14 Silver and 15 Bronze medals, and CSC Swimmers proudly contributed 7 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze medals. On 22nd June 2018, more than 200 members, their families and friends gathered around and some sat in the pool under the stars to experience the cinema alfresco movie night. On the 21st July 2018, the CSC Fun-tastic Family Carnival cum Open House, a club-wide event, attracted more than 800 members, guests and public who attended and participated in exciting games, activities, communal painting and food tasting on that day. These events are part of the Club’s continuous efforts to engage members and as a membership recruitment platform. Foodies will be glad to know that there will be a wine pairing dinner on 13th September 2018. Members will be introduced to an exquisite wine from one of France’s oldest vineyards. On 5th October 2018 we will have our inaugural Oktoberfest at Manzhu. Join us for a sumptuous German buffet, great beer and get ready to join the fun and exciting Oktoberfest band, The Swiss Alpine Lions that will perform live right inside Manzhu! Prosit! On behalf of the Management Committee and Team of administrative staff, I wish all members and their families a Happy Mid-Autumn festival. Shalom and God Bless.

MESSAGE FROM SUB-COMMITTEE

Dear Members The Regional Networking Committee has been actively seeking to expand the recreational and sporting facilities for our members to enjoy locally and beyond the shores of Singapore. The Committee has in the past months initiated reciprocal and affiliation arrangements with suitable social and golf clubs. Special privileges from selected resorts and hotels were also arranged for members for their leisure and business trips. We are pleased to share that from end of 2017 to July 2018, the number of reciprocal and affiliated clubs together with resorts and hotels was increased from 25 to 54, which is beyond the target of 39 for this year. We will continue to increase the list targeting at Malaysian and Indonesian clubs and hotels which are nearer to Singapore before we reach out to the clubs and resorts/hotels in Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia, China, Sri Lanka and beyond. The Committee hopes to bring more benefits to members through this regional network club connection. These continuous efforts to expand the network of recreational and sporting facilities allow members to visit and enjoy club facilities and hospitality away from home. In addition, our sporting members could explore organising overseas competitions at some of these clubs and our Golf section members have also benefited from their visits to golf clubs affiliated to our club both locally and overseas. Members who are golfers are also encouraged to visit and play golf at Ponderosa Golf Club in Johor, Malaysia, as CSC holds four Corporate Memberships which members could use and enjoy the golfing facilities there. To book a golf flight at Ponderosa Golf Club, members just need to call our Front Office for assistance. Only buggy fee is chargeable when members play golf at Ponderosa Golf Club. With this list of clubs in our regional network, we are able to also attract new members as these members see the advantage of joining CSC because of the extended network and networking opportunities both at home and abroad. Lastly, we are glad to share that another 3 new affiliated clubs have been sealed and added to the list with The Els Club in Desaru and IOI Palm Villa Golf and Country Resort in Johor, Malaysia and Ria Bintan Golf Club in Bintan, Indonesia, for members to explore for your next overseas visit. (Please see the ensuing page for more information). I am looking forward to members’ active exploration of these expanded recreational and sporting facilities that the Committee has tied up.
David Khoe . Chairman of Regional Networking Committee
CSC Fun-tastic Family Carnival Cum Open House, held on Saturday, 21 July 2018, attracted more than 800 members, guests and public who had a great time enjoying the games, food and performances. Many participants enjoyed the table-tennis sparring session with 4-time Olympian, Li Jia Wei as well as Golf Putting and the Disco Bowling Competition. As part of the showcase for the day, Hydrofit demonstrations and trials as well as a friendly game of Flippa Ball were very well received by attendees. Members and guests also got to try out our on-going exercise classes, Piloxing and Barre for free. Children had tremendous fun with activities such as Zorb Balls, Titanic Bouncy Castle, Foam Party and Face Painting. Adults and children were also seen doing batik painting together at the Arrival Pavilion. The “Robot” filled with sweets and packet drinks also created a lot of curiosity from the crowd. There were food and drink booths offering nostalgic street snacks, mooncakes, yoghurt and Muslim food. Free ice cream was given out and participants also got to decorate their own Unicorn Ice Ball and participate in our photo contest. Participating tenants and partners such as Kawai Music School, Kinara Group, Nongsa Resort Pte Ltd and Cocoon Learning Centre had their booth at the Arrival Pavilion to promote their service and packages. Our very own Golf section, Swimming, Membership, and Sports & Lifestyle Departments were also there to share what the Club has to offer to members and guests. The Dance Sports Academy, Kawai Music School, our Club’s Line Dance group put up performances, while Fu Lin Men Cantonese Dining held culinary demonstration cum food tasting for the crowd on that day. At the Recreation Complex, durian lovers rejoiced at the annual Durian Fest party organized by the Lifestyle Committee. Members and their guests had a great time feasting on premium “Mao Shan Wang” while interacting with one another. The party was complemented with tropical fruits such as rambutans, mangosteens and coconut water. This year lucky draw was a Grab & Win concept in a Cash Flow Machine. Participants won themselves sponsored items consisting of resort stays, keyboards, vouchers, electrical appliances, soft toys and chocolates! We would like to thank all tenants, sponsors and contributors for their generous support and outstanding participation!

NEW NEW HEAD HEAD COACH COACH
SHINICHIRO KUWAHARA We would like to welcome onboard our new Head Coach, Mr Shinichiro Kuwahara, who joined us in August 2018. Mr Shinichiro has more than 20 years of coaching experiences and under his helm he had been to USA, Japan and Vietnam to coach swimmers in competitive swimming. He also has a vast experience managing international meet, national team and swim school business operation. His strength in coaching encompasses swim technique analysis, race data analysis, and various training methods. As the new Head Coach of CSC Swim Team, Mr Shinichiro aims to inspire swimmers to improve themselves and impart soft skills that could help them to be successful in life; not solely about swimming fast or clinching a medal but instead to establish their own goals in life.
This year’s edition of the CSC Super Junior Swimming Invitational 2018, held on 30 June and 1 July, received an overwhelming positive response. A total of 564 swimmers from 39 clubs participated, including clubs from Thailand, Indonesia, India, China, Brunei, Malaysia and Vietnam. Instead of the usual 8-lane race, 10 lanes were utilised this year to better accommodate swimmers. Swim CSC produced outstanding results and showed great camaraderie as a team. Two of our swimmers, Jeroy Teo and Reagan Cheng, won the Most Valuable Swimmer Award in their respective age groups. CSC emerged as overall champion for the third consecutive year, ahead of Swimfast Aquatic Club and Singapore Swimming Club. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude towards our sponsors for their generosity and support in making this event a success.

Cinema Alfresco by The Pool (22 June) CSC’s very first movie screening, held on 22 June 2018, was well-supported by a huge audience which filled the area around the Beginners’ Pool. Inflatable chairs and floats were prepared for members and friends to watch “The Avengers” while sitting under the stars and lying in the pool. Avengersthemed car decals and masks were given out. Five winners best dressed for the theme were each presented with a set of CSC’s Sasha bear and corporate gifts. Thank you for being part of the successful debut and look out for our next movie screening with your family and friends.
Cloudy Bay & Terrazas Wine Dinner (19 July) The wine dinner on 19 July 2018 was very well received as it was fully booked one month before the event. A total of 50 members and guests attended the dinner. For this occasion, an exquisite New Zealand wine selection was paired with specially crafted western cuisine from our Chef. Our wine section members and wine connoisseurs showed their enthusiasm by sharing and exchanging wine knowledge with their fellow members and friends. The next wine dinner is the M. Chapoutier French wine and food pairing event on 13 September 2018!
