Ateneo Celadon

In March 1998, a group of young Celadoneans led by Oscar Tan (BS ME/ AB EcoH ’01) launched the maiden issue of Chinoy. This 12-page tabloid-sized compilation of edited freshmen essays aimed to become the voice that provided the entire Ateneo community with a deeper understanding of the Chinese-Filipino culture. More than just a creative outlet, Chinoy was conceived for the purpose of challenging our understanding of this fusion of cultures.
